jumping nonstop….?

Nori, my bun, won’t stop jumping on furniture she’s not supposed to and keeps knocking stuff down in the process. She’s not very good at jumping either, every time she jumps, she misses but she knocks things down and it usually always ends up falling on her. She keeps trying to jump on top of her cage as well (its pretty low and the top looks like those wire cubes) and almost always gets her foot stuck or misses and fall. I keep picking her up immediately when she actually manages to get on the furniture and say “no” in a firm voice but she is so stubborn.

You need to block access and/or move things so that they don’t fall on her.

Sounds like my bunny driving me nuts, jumping all clumsily and carelessly on things he shouldn’t and falling. He’s also very stubborn. It’s frustrating! But bunny-proofing better helped… when I was blocking things too much the temptation was too high to jump over everything. Maybe you can put a cloth on the top of her cage so her feet don’t get stuck?

You should definitely try your best to bunny proof the furniture, in terms of making sure nothing dangerous is on the furniture that could hurt your bun if jumped on. Wick loves gaining elevation, so he jumps a lot as well. For some furniture, there’s a small cardboard box at the foot so he can easily jump off cautiously if he’s feeling a bit less spastic. He also has a pile of boxes to himself that he likes to climb up on before starting to groom. Perhaps you can provide this as an alternative?

In some cases, it might be better to teach your bun the best jumping arc. I would pick Wick up when he’s contemplating a bad arc and guide him in the safest way to ascend or descend.
