Hey so I have a 4 month old Holland lop that is black and I noticed today that she has a bit of a wet nose and the other day when I was bringing her home in the car she also had a wet nose..the other day in the car I just thought it was because she was stressed out and maybe a bit hot, and today I’m just wondering if I should be at all worried, she’s eating, drinking, pooping and peeing all no normal and there’s no discharge or anything it’s just wet, I was told that Holland lop tend to have wet noses sometimes..just wondering if anyone has any input for me, much appreciated thanx

Sometimes rabbits get a wet nose, esp if it’s warm or the bun has been very active. Since rabbits only ever breathe through their noses, moisture from the breath or the ambient air can deposit around the nostrils. This is fully normal and not a sign of illness.

What to look out for is a snot around the nostrils, white or otherwise colored. Thick-ish snot is indicative of a bunny cold, which as a rule is caused by bacteria and needs to be treated with antibiotics.

It’s great that you’re vigilant, especially since this is a new rabbit!
