I just adopted a new bunny, and my other two bunnys are angry at me for it. I guess shes getting a bit of extra attention because shes in a cage all alone and they have each other, but when i went to let them out for there run they were peeved. I finally got them out, a few hours alter when i went to put them in they just ran away. I finally caught them but both of them put up a struggleing fight. When i had them i tried to cuddle each of them and give them one on one attention for a few minutes before putting them back but they just struggled and scratched. Is there anything I can do to try to make them like me again? I gave them some shreeded carrot which seemed to momentarily help, but they stil ran to the other side of the cage when i tried to pick them up.

I would give them a new toy or treat they’ve never tried before so they could forget about it and focus on the new object. But if it’s jealousy they may take a while. Rabbits can hold grudges lol, Pudge held a grudge against me when I took him to the vet.

Yes i agree that rabbits can hold grudges….Henry held one against me after he was neutered and turned his affections to my boyfriend who he previously had no interest in. Our relationship has never quite been the same. Henry and I that is…. not the boyfriend and I

I hope your two bunnies get used to the new one being around. Plenty of TLC and distractions will probably help

Hoooooo, yeah.  Bunnies are great grudge holders.  I’d posted about our peeved rabbit–yesterday was sort of the same thing.  Mike was home and I had to leave for a few hours (visiting Dad in the hospital–I’d tried to explain to the bun, but she wasn’t interested).  Mike got a late start leaving for his errands, sooooo……….I was the Liberator de Las Bunnies yesterday.  Quantum and I got along fine.  Mike comes home and instant cold bunny shoulder.  When she finally deigned to notice his presence it was only to chew a small hole in his Levi’s, try to chew through his shoelace and to grab the tongue of his shoe several times and jerk it hard.  When he reached down, she hopped out of reach, waiting to have another go at him.  Not a pleased bun at all………………….

The good news is (so far) they eventually decide you’ve been punished enough.

Quite the charactors.   A grudge holding match oh nooo.

Cotton gets mad when I hold Ruby or pet her.   He comes and runs up jumps on us.  He gives the bunny butt and stink eye first.      Then can’t stand it anymore and has to run up and jump on us both.    He doesnt’ hold a grudge for very long though.   I am so glad for that.

Heh, when Fluff gets mad when were on the couch he gives me the bunny bum teatment.

Fluff and Puff forgave me when i brought home fresh mint leaves and shredded carrot so its all good!

I was sorta curious about another thing ive noticed, Foofoo and Puff are both girls and they run away when its time to go in, but Fluff, the boy wil sit there and let me pick him up, is running away a female thing or just a thing depending on the bun?

They may be mad, or just concerned that they can smell or see another rabbit.

Running away definitely depends on the bun They probably run cuz they know it’s time to go home, but your new one doesn’t so she she just sits there

Sophie is going to be 4 in March and she’s been my only child since she was a few weeks old. Well, Mommy (me) went and got herself a boyfriend and you think a bunny holding a budge against another bunny is bad? Try a 6’2″ man. LOL. Seriously, she stomps, headbutts, and growls at him. God forbid we lay on the couch and watch a movie, she’ll jump up and immediately try to ‘rearrange’ his arm from me and place herself right there. Very funny for me to watch, but I think he’s intimidated by a 4 pound fluff ball!
