› FORUM › HOUSE RABBIT Q & A › Jelly is very ill
This morning Jelly was acting very uncomfortable. Doing belly presses like when they get gas discomfort but a bit more frantic. A few times sort if throwing himself upside down.
I thought possible gas so gave simethicone a few times and massaged his abdomen. At lunch I gave him metacam and made vet appt.
The vet think probably his gut has slowed in response to pain but couldn’t locate where trouble is stemming from (we’d thought possibly his teeth, or bladder). He’s had jaw abscess treated this year which is and was treated for suspected cystitis mid October.
. He was given gut motility med as there aren’t any normal gut sounds. I also got more metacam. It’s now early hours of morning and no improvement. I’ve given more pain med and syringed a little fluid. Every few minutes his body spasms and he hikes his tail right up. He’s only dribbled tiny amounts of pee today where as he normally pees a river. So… I’m now really suss that he’s got a stone passing from the way he’s acting.
I don’t know what else to do for him. I have a heat bag on my lap & he’s lying next to it but not on it much. Would heat help *if* he’s passing a stone? If he doesn’t have a stone, does this sound like pain from trying to urinate because of an infection?
What about doing sub-q fluids?
I was wondering about that. If I’m back at the vet with him (very likely) I’ll ask. I don’t have the supplies at home to do it.
He’s normally a big water drinker and he’s not drinking currently.
If you think it’s a stone you may want to ask as well about some different pain meds like buprenex.
JG, so sorry Jelly’s in discomfort. Stones can be the worst to pass because of the pain. I would think the vet would try to flush it out. Going back is definitely the thing to do if you don’t have what you need at home (most of us don’t.) I just watched my vet flush some stones out of a guinea pig’s bladder and it turned out to be several with one larger one that was giving the most trouble. I think, unless Jelly drinks quite a lot and then changes position a lot it won’t necessarily pass naturally. If it’s too big it could need to be surgically removed also.
Sending healing vibes in case that helps at all. {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Jelly Belly get better soon}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} ![]()
Don’t do anything about this topic but just wanted to send Jelly some healing vibes!!
More vibes for Jelly…….
No advice to offer but wanted to add healing vibes for dear Jelly.
(((((((((((((((((Vibes))))))))))))))))))
Oh no, more vibes for Jelly and do keep us updated!
Thanks guys. There’s been no change. I definitely am taking him back in. Thanks for the invaluable advice! It gives me options to ask his vet.
There’s a strong urine smell but he hasnt really urinated. Just had bit on his fur. Theres also small amounts of mucous on the floor. From hisbottom I suppose… Idk.
Will let you know how we go.
Ok, have had X-rays done and there are no stones as far as vet can tell. Thank goodness!
He’s got ingesta in gut and little gas but there doesn’t appear to be a blockage either. So no idea why his gut has suddenly shut down.
He’s had more pain relief, gut med and I have the all clear to start force feeding now.
Poor Jells
Good to hear no blockages or stones, but a mystery is no fun either.
Here’s hoping the feedings and pain relief help him out. More vibes on the way. And hugs for you. ![]()
Thanks MM.
The syringe feeding was pretty unsuccessful. More on me then into Jelly. I’m going to do just fluids for a bit.
He has passed a little amount of clear red mucous which is worrisome. Not sure if this purely result of his gut not working or something else. Made me think an ulcer might be possible source of pain…
Didn’t think of that before and vet never brought it up either.
Or it might all because he’s ingested a lot of fur. This just all came on so suddenly so it’s a bit baffling.
I’m so sorry to hear Jelly is unwell. Glad it’s not a stone, though. Poor little guy. I hope the fluids can perk him up.
Blood could certainly be an ulcer and that would definitely be causing him lots of pain. I would bring that up with the vet.
I don’t really know much about this, so I’m just going to send lots of (((((Get Well Jelly))))) Vibes and ***Hugs****. Please keep us updated. I will be thinking about him today.
Took Jelly back in this morning. He’s being kept there now as his temperature is too low. Will be on drip and they’ll do force feedings.
Please keep him in your thoughts. Vet has been very honest and told me things are not looking good for him.
Jelly is definitely in my thoughts, and you too
. Keep fighting little guy!
I hope Jelly feels better soon!
Healing Vibes for Little Jelly……………….
Oh no. Vibes for Jelly and yourself. Definitely, keep fighting Jelly!
(((((((((((((((((Megavibes for Jelly)))))))))))))))
Jerz I dread bringing this up but I just posted to a thread involving this…could there be some kind of intestinal adhesion that may have been missed on the xrays?
The symptoms just seem a bit similar, although I’ve no idea how it would’ve happened.
Prayers going for Jelly. ((((((((((Hugs)))))))))))
Poor Jelly man.. hope he feels better soon!
I’m sad.
I really hope he feels better soon. Try to stay positive. I know from personal experience, with Bindi several times, the vet basically told me to prepare for the worst, and Bindi bounced back. I bet Jelly is a little fighter too.
(((((We are all rooting for you, little Jelly))))))
((((((((jerseygirl & jelly)))))))))
JG, I’m glad he’s staying there overnight for a drip and force feedings. At least that way he’s getting a steady flow working on the problem, so maybe it will flush out anything aggravating it and also give him time to heal while resting, without working on eating and moving. I find that hopeful.

Vibes to Jelly – how is he today?
I’m so sorry Jelly is so sick, keep us updated on his progress. I’m not familiar enough with the symptoms to offer any different suggestions
(((((((((((((((((Vibes)))))))))))))))))))))
Just checking in to see how Jelly is doing and offer more prayers and vibes. ((((((((((((Jelly & JG)))))))))))
Thinking of you. I hope things have improved for the wee bub.
Me too. I keep checking in for an update. Thinking of you and him, Jersey. (((((Jelly))))))
(((((Vibes for Jelly)))))
Oh Geez- Poor Jelly and poor you!! Wow this really did come on fast!! {{{{Jelly}}}}
Thanks for the support everyone. It’s really great to have people on here pretty much at any hour that I can talk with. You’re all so great!
Am feeling positive at the moment as Jelly is nibbling at things on his own. Hopping around, grooming himself and lying stretch out. All things that tell me he’s somewhat comfortable. Still no poo though. Just tiny amounts of the red stuff :/.
Pam, he was only kept at vet yesterday during the day. I collected him at closing as they don’t do an overnight service. I took him to work (evening) and kept him warm and syringed rehydration formula.
So it was 3-4am after we were home that he nibbled at some hay and was seeming perkier. Enough for me to feel ok to go grab some sleep.
So the BB vibes are working I think. He’s really surprising me. I just don’t want a turn for the worst overnight because my options of where to take him are limited then.
Staying positive. He’s giving me that confidence.
That sounds a good update Jerz.
The red stuff still worries but if he’s been empty long it could be an ulcer. Poor boy.
Continued healing vibes and prayers going for Jelly. Thank God he’s improved. Long may it continue!
Prayers for you and Jelly! I hope he gets better soon and it is nothing serious!
I’m glad to hear he’s eating. Hope there are some normal poops soon. ((((Jelly))))))
The eating was short lived but at least something’s gone in. It’s been 4 days now with no poo.
@MM: sorry, I haven’t had a chance to look at the other thread regarding the adhesions. The vet I saw Wednesday said it would not be from stomach, rather from rest of intestine (???). Just result of enteritis I think.
Mmm…just when I post his appetites gone he hops out and nibbles on something again. Jelly, you’re turning me prematurely grey!
Ill take him back to vet in morning to be checked before heading into the weekend. Hopefully get some fluids in.
Fluids would be definitely be a good thing if there is still no poo. Poor little guy. (((Jelly))))
And don’t feel bad. All my animals are turning me grey! It’s just what they do. ![]()
My bunny is the one that had the adhesion, and she was pooping and eating up until LESS than 24 hours before she passed! The symptoms don’t sound the same but I know they can be hard to detect and to diagnose sometimes.
I do hope they can figure it out, I know how frustrating it is to go back and forth and not get better! I hope your bun improves!
Edit to add: According to my vet, in order to detect an abscess or something like that, they were going to do a sonogram (I think I’m remembering that right?) The X Ray doesn’t show much… they also did a cytosis to check for cancerous cells. Expensive but if you can determine if it’s an abscess or something then that helps!
I just saw this today and I’m so sorry to hear about Jelly! It’s great that he’s eating at least a little bit now and I hope he’s out of the woods soon. Sending BB vibes your way.
Well at least the starting and stopping and starting again is a sign of some progress. Hang in there, both of you!
Jerz I don’t recall if you mentioned this…has your vet given anything like ranitidine for possible acidity in the GIT? Although Jelly’s trouble seems to be in the intestine if he’s inappetant he might need something to keep his tum from producing too many digestive acids. It’s got some gut stimulant properties too though so no idea if it can be used with metaclopromide.
Also…has he been tested for clostridium? Fiver had an active infection of this once that resulted in bloody/mucousy stools/cecals. We found flagyl helpful.
Will PM you later. More healing and nomming vibes.
aschild, thank you for joining this thread. I remember you speaking of the low temp of your bun and the other symptoms that seemed similar, but you know your experience best and that’s what can be so helpful for other bun owners. ![]()
Oh MM, we are on same wave length. Was just reading about Zantac. Ulcers treated with this, along with a penicillin and flagyl. I recall you’ve said about flagyl for clostridium before.
@ aschild: I’m so sorry you lost your bunny like that. Thanks for advice about the sonogram also.
Oh I love to help! What I’ve learned is that things can really surprise you. The low temp and not eating/pooping definitely came at the final 24 hours, even less. She in particular had trouble peeing in her litterbox and was instead peeing all over but she never stopped pooping and eating. That’s why she was being treated for a UTI or an abscess. It’s all very weird so I mean I wouldn’t rule anything out. An ultrasound could maybe rule out any of those things and we were scheduled for one as soon as they could have stabilized her. I believe that shows what’s going on in there.

Thanks! It’s frustrating to keep treating for something you aren’t sure of, which is what we were doing. It’s amazing how quickly it all went down too, one day she’s normal and then all within a month there signs of a UTI and then it went downhill. I do hope they can figure it out for you! I wish I had been more pushy and taken her in but when they said 7-10 days of antibiotics that’s what I did! I hope it gets straightened up for you! ![]()
That’s good he’s nibbling a bit!! I hope it goes well at the vet today!! {{Jelly}}
Hi all,
I dropped Jelly in at vet again this morning. I mainly wanted him assessed but also, he was refusing food again and hiding away. I was able go visit and hold him this afternoon and he seems good. Definitely got food in his tract, it’s just taking forever to come out! There was only a tiny amount of red mucous yesterday and none today.
They are going give more fluids and motility med then I can pick him up soon.
Keeping the vibes going for little Jelly………….
Hoping very much that Jelly is better now. ((((((((((Jelly))))))))))))
{{{Jelly}}} Did the vet have any idea why the mucous would be red? I wonder if that’s an indication of what is going on?
Continued healing vibes for Jelly and you! <3
Dittoing the healing vibes. Keep us updated!
Everything still same, no eating, no poo. The vet said yesterday it probably won’t be until Sunday. I had no idea they could go that long without pooing!
His temp was normal & hydration better at vet yesterday. Wednesday was the worst with his temp at 95F and I was told his body took 600mls if subQ fluid like it was nothing.
He had more subQ’s and criticare at vet yesterday along with dose of Zantac. I was told he was given metacloprimide injection also but I can’t see it on invoice or on history I had printed off. : ( I wish I’d noticed sooner because I can’t ring to follow it up now as they’re closed until Monday.
At home i’m continuing with syringe feeding and fluids and tummy massage. Have Zantac to give every 8 hrs and metacam I’m giving every 12.

{{{Jelly}}} Did the vet have any idea why the mucous would be red? I wonder if that’s an indication of what is going on?
She just said from inflammation. From what I understand, they produce mucous to protect the tracts walls. So I guess there was a bleed at some point. Not really sure…
Wow…that’s a lot of fluid! 0_0
I always had to make certain I didn’t give the zantac astride the metacam or the painkiller wouldn’t absorb properly.
Did they give you metaclop oral to take home?
More healing vibes for Jelly. So much stress for both of you and right up to the holiday.
Bless xx
I have also heard that about the inflammation and mucous, but it being red is just a bit more unusual. I wonder if it is ulcers. I am sorry Jerseygirl, as I haven’t been following many threads this month, but has Jelly been on any other meds (long-term type?).
I so hope that things work out quickly. I know how stressful this must be. Healing vibes to Jelly, and Peace and Restful sleep vibes to you!
Thanks for the tip MM. I am trying to space the different things out but they didn’t mention it. Good to know.
No, no metaclop to take home.
BB, the longest med he’s been on was abx metronidazole (2ml/day over 6months) He finished that mid October. He also had a week on baytril that overlapped in mid October. He’s had a couple baytril injections this week during the stasis.
I questioned ulcer at the time when he had this mucous but vet said it would be from lower tract, not stomach. But they could still get ulcers there couldn’t they?
I also asked if a polyp but she also said no. Was from inflammation. I did ask yesterday about thoughts on sonograms and she said its difficult to get good images as most views are obscured by intestine. So when I mentioned looking for intestinal ulcer she said same difficulty.
I’ve seen 4 different vets between consults and picking Jelly up after the days he’s stayed for treatment. So asking same questions with another, I might get a different viewpoint. If I have to have him seem Monday, it will likely be with the vet that saw him throughout his jaw abscess treatment.
We did talk about some blood work to be done to check liver and kidneys. I’m guessing this would be sometime after recovery though. He has lost weight this week and I’ve read stasis and weightloss can effect liver readings. So it wouldn’t give a picture of what was going on pre-stasis. That’s how I figure it anyway. More things for me to ask the vet!
I wonder if the extended metronidazole was too much for him? :-/Sometimes that med can be hard on a bunny’s system and is not without side effects.
I still haven’t been able to get Mimzy off his nightly metaclop and he’s been on it constantly for six months. Side effects are a lazy gut (when trying to wean him off), hair loss, lethargy, dull appetite anod BLUE EARS.
I wonder if the metronidazole killed off too many good bacteria and this needs some help to grow back?
Has the vet done any x-rays yet?
Is Jelly at home with you now?
Is Sonogram the same as an ultrasound? My vet said the same thing about getting an ultrasound done on Stormy’s GI. She said they most often don’t provide any info to the vet, unfortunately.
Crossing my fingers and praying Jelly will be well for Christmas. (((((Poop vibes))))) Feel better, little bun!!! **Hugs for Jersey**
LPT, I don’t know. I thought they were the same. I usually use the term ultrasound. It’s good to know your vet said same thing, thanks.
Sarita he had X-rays done on Tuesday (2nd day of stasis). It only revealed a very full stomach. The cecum wasn’t even gassy. The food has since moved.
We’ve just come home from vet. He wasn’t acting too comfortable earlier and I didn’t want to risk going through tonight without him being seen. I went to vet that consults on Sundays and where I’ve taken fosters for desexings before. He had metocloprimide injection and this vet offered some to take home. Yes please! The notes i got from my regular clinic indicate he last had this tuesday. : ( i don’t know what to think… on friday when i chatted with who saw him i asked about metamide and im sure she told me he had some that day. Yet its not in his notes or on invoice.
Anyway, the vet today said to keep up syringing fluids and foods.
Also to start him on his antibiotics.
Half hour later at home he ate couple strands of hay and drank steadily from the bowl for a few minutes. He hasn’t been doing that at all.
So feeling optimistic right now. He’s a trooper <3
Oh it sounds positive so far. Keeping my fingers crossed that all continues on this upward path!
That is wonderful news….Keeping the vibes going for more progress.
glad to hear the good news! ((((jersey and jelly)))))
I’m going insane waiting. Each time I think he’s coming good, he reverts. He goes from making teeth noises & pressing his belly down, to hopping around and grooming himself like normal, then back to acting uncomfortable. Doing my head in not knowing if he’s in pain or not .
Poor little Jelly. He’s obviously a fighter though!
Keeping the vibes going for your boy AND YOU! Keep your head up, it’s the best thing you can do for Jelly!
I’m glad to hear he ate some. At least there are some good moments, binkies, etc. I know that’s frustrating but at least he’s not feeling bad all the time. I’m sure he’s fighting this because he knows how much you love him.
(((((Jelly))))))
I suppose the moments where he’s looking uncomfy the metaclopromide could be causing some cramping. Still for a bun who hasn’t eaten or pooed properly for so long it’s going to take a bit to get back to normal. So hard watching them go through discomfort though.
Thinking of you and continuing vibes for Jelly!
Maybe the switching back and forth means things are on the move ??? Keeping my fingers crossed and the vibes coming.
Go Jelly! Continued good thoughts are on the way ![]()
How is little bub today?
Just some more [[[[[[[[[[[[[[Healing vibes}}}}}}}}}}} to fix our Jelly’s belly. Hugs, too.
Thanks for the continued vibes everyone. Still no poo at day 8 I’m afraid.
Though I hear lots of gurgles and see that rolling gut movement in his fur.
He also ate some greens just now.
Continued vibes. I have had a few rabbits who have gone 7 days without poo’s so there is still hope.
Oh thanks Sarita! It’s just so scary the longer it continues. It’s out of the realm of my experience. Jerseys bouts of stasis only lasted 24-48 hrs.
(((((Jelly))))))) My Christmas wish is for you to have some little poos.
Finally some late Christmas afternoon, albeit not normal looking poos. Its more loose stools but at least something’s coming out. I was hoping his appetite would return quickly after but he’s only nibbling bits here and there. He’s gotten so skinny this week.
I am very grateful Jelly seems to be getting through this but I now have another challenge.
Unfortunately I found my foster bun Ainsley not wanting to eat Christmas morning. : ( He still hasnt come good 24hrs later. So I’m praying he’ll have a quick recovery.
Oh Jerz…not another poorly bun! (((((((((((More vibes and prayers)))))))))))))
Are the vets certain there are no pathogens in Jelly’s system? Could they both have some “flu”?
I hope things come right soon. You must be exhausted. I hope you are able to find time to rest. ((((((((((Hugs)))))))))
Thanks MM. I’ve been getting some sleep during the day.
Ainsley’s seems more of a slow down. I only noticed the irregular sized droppings when I cleaned out his box after I found he was refusing to eat. His might be stress related as he was thumping at something the other night. He’s also got stuck into his cardboard tray he likes to hang out in. So I’m wondering if he ate too much cardboard.
Happy to report he has done some small poops today now. He’s still not himself but I am hopeful he’ll come good.
More if the loose stuff from Jelly. I’m trying keep up fluids and entice him to eat.
Popping in to say I’m sending good vibes from USA to AUS for you and your crew! Jelly seems like he’s had a rough time recently, hopefully he’s on the mend. My previous bun got sick from eating too much cardboard once and gave me a good scare, keep us updated on Ainsley too.
How are Jelly and Ainsley today?
Hi LPT,
They’re both on the improve I think. Both are some greens tonight (It’s almost 3am here).
I even heard Ainsley “humming” (that hormonal thing they do). So I hope that’s a sign he’s feeling more himself. He’s still pretty leery of me though as I’ve been syringing meds, water & food.
Jelly still worries me though. I’d like to see him eating with gusto but it might be too much to expect. He’s had a big week. The fact he is eating and toileting is so much better from where we were several days ago.
I’m glad to hear that.
Well, just imagine being really sick for a week, you don’t feel like eating like a pig as soon as you’re better, so it often takes time with buns too. Hope you all had a nice Christmas!
Oh gosh, sending even more vibes for your crew! I can’t believe you had another bun sick. Especially during the holidays. Really sending so many vibes for your little one and foster one.

Eek! Is that Nurse Ratched?
Thanks guys. Back to vet with boy today.
Oh and Ainsley nommed all his morning pellets thank goodness.
rabbit pam, that’s fabulous!
jerseygirl, you and jelly have been in my thoughts. how did the vet appt go? glad to hear ainsley is acting better.
Rabbit Pam! OMGGGGG. THAT IS AWESOME!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAAH.
Glad to hear Ainsley’s doing better..silly buns! Continued vibes to you and your furry ones.
LOL Pam! That’s great..where do you find these things??
I would love for that nurse to show up at my next docs appointment. I would be all better right then and there! Love that photo!
Relieved to hear that Ainsley is doing better and I hope that Jelly continues to have more waves of improvement so that it just becomes continuous soon.
Keep us updated.
LOL I wish I could remember where I got that one. Either it was a get well card I gave to someone (scanned) or I did a google keyword search bunny, nurse, or something similar, then I look in google images and scroll till I see something I like. I love this particular nurse, though. Ratchet, definitely.
Jersey, how is everyone doing today? (Including you.)
Thanks for checking in on Jelly guys. I’ve been processing things in my own mind and trying to get the hang of helping him day to day.
In brief, he had prolonged stasis followed by mucoid diarrhoea which we’re still dealing with. So he’s a sick boy.
It’s heartbreaking to see. 2 weeks ago i had a seemingly healthy bunny. Now he’s a pound lighter, barely eats or drinks and is dealing with pain. Plus he has me forcing him to take meds, water, food.
I’ve been doing a lot of abdominal massage and I know this helps him at least. There are moments where he relaxes into it or starts licking my arm. Small things that tell me I’m giving him some relief…
I know I have to try stay positive. I know this. I’m sorry if I don’t come across as positive and I’ve delayed updating here for that reason. I will start telling myself that everyday will get better for him. My Baby Bear.
((((((jersey and jelly))))))
callie and i are sending healing bunny thoughts your way.
Awww….continued vibes to Jelly and strength vibes to you Jersey.
Awwwwww, I’m so sorry Jersey. <3 <3 Me and my bun crew are sending lots of healing vibes for Jelly and yourself.
As long as Jelly is fighting, you have to keep fighting too! Be strong for your bun bun if not for yourself. And you shouldn’t feel bad if you don’t come across as positive. We are all here to help you through this difficult time as best as possible. Keep your head up, Jersey!!!
I’m late to this thread. Poor Jelly, I hope he gets better. Sounds like he is appreciating the massages.
Oh, I’m so sorry. C’mon Jelly, you can pull out of this! And Jersey, this has got to be emotionally draining. You don’t have to be “positive” for us. I ditto tanlover, we are here for YOU. If you can’t express this to people who can not only sympathize, but empathize, then who can you really express this to? So I’m sending healing vibes to Jelly and hugs to you.
I know many members understand those feeling that arise when caring for a sick animal. When you feel inadequete or wonder if you’re doing the right thing. It comes and goes… Then there might be a small breakthrough and you see the way forward again.
I’m always grateful to have this community to come and talk with, especially now.
Thank you!
*Tons of healing vibes*
Sorry to hear about this.
I read that you give tummy massages so I would suggest you get Weleda Baby Tummy Oil. It is all natural and relieves gas and stomach pains. It’s for external use.
You can make a soup of mashed banana and cold water
– it might make him drink.
JG, I ditto BB’s ditto. Tanlover said it best, so just post to chat and vent, OK?
I think one of the hardest things is that we all want the crisis to be over by the next day, and a treatment of even a normal length, say 10 days, seems interminably long. So it’s hard to keep reporting no change, or to see discomfort day after day. Also, introducing a medical care regimen is very life changing for you. It’s stressful and takes time and patience, which is hard to muster when you are so worried. It’s often the case when our bunnies become geriatric. I had my daily routine altered for many months when Spockie had his chronic illnesses. But isn’t it lovely when they snuggle in to you and decide that Mom is doing all of this for them, and trying to make them feel better?
Well, let;s hope that one of these days – maybe this week – you get that breakthrough moment of feistiness when they tell you to go away, they feel better, get rid of those pesky meds. {{{{{{{Hugs & Healing}}}}}}
I know how heartbreaking and emotionally draining dealing with a situation like this is. We are all here for you and if you feel the need to vent in frustration, go ahead. We understand!
(((((Jelly)))))) Feel better for the New Year, little man.
I’m sorry to see that Jelly’s recovery is so slow.
Is he still on any medications?
Prayers and vibes that he is soon feeling much better.
I empathize with you on how it can make one stressed and despondent when you see your dear bun in pain or distress over prolonged periods. As difficult as it may be, be certain to take some time to take care of you, too. (((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))))
Jelly is bonded to Timbu, right? How is he faring?
No they aren’t bonded but they are room mates. Their relationship is contrary and Timbu is a bit of a Prince :p He doesn’t like me giving attention to other rabbits but I can placate him if I pet him at the same time.
I’d actually like to bond Jelly to Maple & Potamus as their interactions so far have been positive. Even more during this illness I’ve thought about doing that when he’s better. I think that would be nice for him.
He’s on metacloprimide 3x/day, metronidazole 2x/day and metacam.

Hoping for some good news on Jelly <3
Hugs! I hope things are going okay. Sending vibes!
I get so worried when I don’t hear. ![]()
More vibes to Jelly.
Thanks again. All the vibes are appreciated and still needed. He hasn’t been too good the last couple of days.
More then anything I’d like him to be doing better and posting a happy update here but unfortunately that’s not the case. Today was difficult.
I’ll update more though when I can think more clearly. I did have some success tonight after I took him for a car ride. I’d noticed sometimes after coming back from the vet, he’d go straight to the litterbox and munch on some hay. The vibrations from the car may have helped move things in his gut. So I took a chance and it worked tonight. He only ate a little but after refusing everything all day, I was glad to see it. My fear is that its too little to sustain him.
Will keep trying to get more food into him.
more vibes for Jelly!
Not surprising. My vet calls that Car Therapy. If it helps at all, it will help in the long run. I see you doing quick errands with Jelly in his carrier. Not a bad idea for the next few days.
Hugs.

That makes sense actually! Is she moving around much yet on her own? I wonder if getting her running a bit would also help stimulate her GI?
Thank you all for these last few weeks, rallying for Jelly and for me. It helps so much not to have to deal with it alone.
Im sad to say that I have had to make the that decision for Jelly. We had his final vet appointment earlier today.
I’ve posted in rainbow bridge forum also.
Again, I’m truly thankful for you here. Sending big round of (((((hugs))))) to you all.
