Well – I’m still pinching myself! Was only little over 30 hours ago that I was reading the Saturday paper and now I have brought a lovely young buck. Young but rather chubby! I set up a pen for him in an outdoor room but on dark I got concerned and then he started thumping. So after all my earlier efforts, I’ve just finished setting him up in the laundry. Such a sucker I am! Anyway, it’s warmer and easier to keep an eye on him.
So here’s some piccies! His previous home named him Hoppy but I’ll likely change it. So far I’ve just been calling him “Cutie” for the meantime :o)
but wait….there’s more!!! hehe
Awww. *stares at puddle of mush that used to be jerseygirl.*
I love his little white manicured fur around his toes, and under his tail. A very sweet mush face.
Congratulations! Have a cigar….jpg)
what a sweetie! i love lops <3 congrats on your new bundle of fur and rabbitude ![]()
He’s so cute! I can see why you just could not resist him!
Oh Jersey he’s adorable!! Congrats! ^_^
Those ears are so.. chubby! I ♥ them hehe.
You’ve finally come over to the dark lop side. ![]()
I see he already has perfected his advanced loafing skills! I love when my lops loaf- they are so compact already, and it makes them look so disapproving.
Congrats-
Julie
I’m glad you said that Julie! I’ve been trying to refresh my memory on all things lop. I always thought I’d probably get another uppy ear. They are so round and compact, sort of muscular. (and have chubby ears apparently^^ lol) I know he needs to lose some weight. It’s a whole different ball game handling him. He’s pretty strong, and hasn’t been picked up much at all. Such a different experience for me, so it’s feels like a whole new journey. I’m looking forward to learning about his personality – but that’s be after he forgives me for another car trip this afternoon – vet time!
I have a feeling he’s going to be fairly sedate – he seems to loaf alot. I saw a half flop last night, quite comical as he can’t really roll right onto his side. I keep looking at Jersey and thinking what a skinny mini she is compared to him.
Beka, I actually had sort of agreed I’d be taking him before I’d even seen him. It was a 1 hr trip and I came prepared to take him home with me. Within a few minutes of arriving, the lady asked me “Are you taking him?” I was like “Oh yeah”. ![]()
OMG Congratulations!!!!! How exciting! He’s gorgeous-he does look like a mellow boy. He looks like a happy boy! Has he been neutered already? I guess what I’m asking is-when does he get to meet Jersey?
So cute!
Congratulations Jersey, I hope those sigars are going to be passed around? 🙂
Hey, I didn’t know you were looking for a new bun. Did this happen suddenly? He’s cute. I love lops too, but for some reason one never came our way and we ended up with two uppy eared buns. But hey, they’re just ears and we love them just the same!
Hehe Ruffles – no I wasn’t seriously looking. I mean I’ve been checking local shelters sites for ever just to look and dream…this just kind of happened! The wheels started turning and I just went with it. I guess rabbit people get rabbits for Easter too.
Lisa -go ahead, help yourself!
I’m only just finishing mine – it must be savored.
K&K, yep he’s neutered. Was at about 9 months old – he’s now 2. Jersey & he have seen each other now through a pen. Did the big reveal tonight. He thumped and she skittered away. Eventually they got braver and I had them eating in front of each other. She became gamer than him – she was just interested in getting the food on his side of the fence. He was a bit more timid. He’s been thru some big changes plus had the vet visit and a shot done – so it’s understandable.
Oh by the way everyone – “Sir Hopsalot” aka “Hoppy” aka “Hopkins” has now officially been named Rumball. ![]()

HAHA! That was how it was with Max. The whole adoption process took a couple months from start to finish. By the time it came around, I knew we would be bringing him home. We had plans to bunny date with Meadow, but it was 90+ degrees outside, 3 hours roundtrip… so we left the Princess at home and picked up the Prince by ourselves… ![]()
So wow, wasn’t she eager to “unload” the poor guy? Some people.
Thank goodness you have him now where he’ll be safe and loved.
Yea, Congrats!
I hope the Bonding goes well!
He’s handsome.
Hehe, he’s such a little chub ball! Looks like he’s settling in well!
Congrats! The lops sure do have different shaped heads in Australia compared to what I’m used to! Or maybe it’s just because he’s chubby, so his head looks small. He sure is cute though! And he already looks very relaxed, like nothing is going to phase him. Well, that is until he really gets to meet Jersey. Haha.
Rumball? I like that name. He looks… very disapproving, but of what? That’s really great that he is already neutered. His coat is interesting, kind of peachy-chestnutty-ticked, what’s this color called?

Probably his new name! It’s just sort of fits, pertaining to his colour and shape. Pity bunny poop looks like miniture rum balls though! Funnily, since renaming him, “Hoppy” keeps slipping out, so I’m switching between them. Poor thing will get a complex. I even think “Mimzy” when he’s sitting hididng away in his box.

Agouti-pretty sure. Perhaps Chestnut agouti or brown/gray agouti. I’m not sure which. His hair shaft has the bands of colour along it. White at very base, blue/steel colour, tan, black or dark gray, then tan tips, though some are dark tips. Opinions anyone? Maybe he’s a mix of the chestnut and brown/gray.

Thanks for the compliment!
In the defense of the previous owners, they were sad to let him go. They were in their 50’s I think. He was their sons rabbit who was o/s. Sounded like he became more theirs. They were madly preparing their home to lease it out and were moving to a city apt. They didn’t feel it was fair on him to live there – they had him roam around outside, inside and he had a hutch for overnight.
All a familiar story I’m afraid, none the less.
I was able to sit and talk with them and you could tell they were fond of him. They’ve even sent a text since, inquiring of his well being.

Woohoo congrats! He’s so cute! You know what you have to do now?? Get a third one! ![]()
don’t worry, I’m onto it! I’ll continue to “look at the shelter sites and dream”…

Haha I completely forgot I put a quote and was going to put something else…so here it goes. I better stop looking at those sites because pretty soon I’ll find another cute bunny.
…..or two, or three…
EEEKKK!!! You have another bunny!!! Awesome! Congratulations!
Rumball…I love it! Has Jersey thrown a diva-fit yet?
Yay for you!

Oh he’s a beaut! ^_^ I am SOO jealous! <.<
Hi Jersey Girl. The name cutie fits him. Unless you are like my mother in law. She named her cat. Then she realized she would never have a grandchild named Samantha. Now she renamed her own cat as Samantha. ![]()
What a doll-baby…
And a proud mama…!
He is a darling Jersey! He looks like my Cooper! Same color and everything! And he seems so relaxed in his new home like he is so unphased by the new move. Sounds like his family knew he was going to a good home so at least they had comfort in that. ![]()

On the colour Hedi, what would you call Cooper. I’m calling Rumball a chestnut agouti but still uncertain. The pen and all those pics were where I put him when I first bought him home, He’s now ensconsed in my laundry, but this is driving me nuts too. Climbing over the gate and pulling muscles I didn’t know I had etc.
I love the name Rumball. It’s one of those perfect names for a bunny that looks like him that I am surprised no one thought of it sooner.
Holly, no offense, but Samantha? For a cat? What kind of a name is that for an animal?
No offense taken. I didn’t name the cat. My mother-in-law is a unique person. If naming a cat Samantha, who am I to interfere????
hehe! Danielle, you did notice rabbitpams signature didn’t you? Ah, sarcasm can sometimes be lost in text.
