My hay box I ordered off etsy just got here! I think Goblin approves.

What did you put in my pen?

It came filled with orchard hay + she sent me some different sized apple twigs as treats It is really sturdy too, I highly doubt he will be knocking this hay box over or throwing it, it has grip feet on it so it can’t slide around either. It holds a good amount of hay too, I would say 3-5 days depending on how much your bun eats, you can really pack it in there. I think it was a good investment!

Awesome You’ll have to tell me how he likes it over the next few days, I’m thinking of a new hay thing for Squirrel and Moose. They make such a mess… I’d get one for the girls, but Monkey would just crawl into it lol.

That looks great – I hope he uses it.

I think he does like it, he has already been eating out of it. I also didn’t know she had put 2 toys inside the box, because I lifted the lid to see if I could put more hay in it and there they were!

I really like it! Please give us an update on how functional it is! Also, what are the dimensions? I didn’t see them listed on the etsy page.

It is 12 inches tall and almost 9 inches wide. It holds the hay well, his area stays a lot cleaner and he eats out of it quite a bit ( he still eats hay in his litter box more often but since I upgraded to a bigger litter box around the same time he has been spending more time in there lol. )

VERY NICE!!! Have you thought about suspending it over the litterbox? That’s what I would do personally…

@Beka: I would suspend it but I have dreams of getting rid of the giant pet store cage and buying another xpen so his area can be a bigger perfect square or rectangle and then I would be able to put the box in front of the litter box, right now the new litter box takes up the entire left side of his cage.

I might actually do that this summer.

@Little: He always stands like that when I come into his pen, like “Hey! Why are you in here?!” its so cute though :S

lol Squirrel does he same thing. runs over, stands up and stares at me. Sometimes he stretches up trying to reach my hair, and falls over.

                              Lops are silly

I can’t wait to hear how it works long term! I love the design.

Even though you’re not going to hang it up, can you tell if it would be easy to hang? Also, let us know if he pulls hay out of it and leaves it all over – that’s my biggest problem with any hay system. My two find it fun to pull the big pieces right out, leave them on the ground, and then pull some more out to eat. lol

It looks like it would be easy to add hooks or whatever to the back of it to hang it somewhere. It has rubber feet on the bottom though that might have to be removed or the bunny would chew on them, and the lid isn’t secured but it would probably be easy to add a hinge to the back and a lock on the front.

He hasn’t been pulling the hay out and leaving it all over, I can see where he has pulled hay out of the box though because it sticks out in tufts but there hasn’t been hardly any left on the floor, I’ve only had to sweep his area twice this week instead of daily

and if she didnt like it,, you could always install 2 subwoofers in it and mount it in your car.
