Just started using Sophresh small pet bedding and noticed they also make paper cat pellets. Everything is identical except the cat litter contains zeolite. The cat litter comes in a bigger bag and is cheaper but all else is the same. I did some research but couldn’t find a definitive answer. I know zeolite is safe for human consumption but am concerned that it may not be safe for my fur babies.

Any thoughts or experience would be appreciated. Zeolite is a mineral.

        Thanks

        Chrystie

Zeolite is used for odor control, much like active charcoal. It’s not toxic, but if you see the bun eating the litter, you should change litter regardless of its ingredients.

Another favorably priced type of litter is wood stove pellets or equine stall pellets. I use wood stove pellets.

It isn’t toxic, but I agree with Bam.
