Monkey definitely humps. Still does, to show Moose she’s the boss. And she circles me when I have raisins.. silly girl. If you can take pics of her “parts” I’m sure someone on here could give you an idea.. I leave it up to my vet to tell me what gender mine are lol.

Girls definitely hump (MB, I love your video of Monkey meeting Moose and just going to town on him while he sat there.) Sammy only circled me twice, but it’s really an exam of the parts that will tell. And at least two members had their bunnies in surgery when the vet came out to announce that they were ALL wrong about the gender. Oops-bunnies. Look for posts asking about how to change the name of a boy to a girl and vice versa.

She still does that now and then, especially if they are having a cube session

I’d give it back to her, its a normal thing for a hormonal bunny to do. She can’t help it, its one of the reasons why its recommended to spay and neuter.. so the poor things aren’t all focused on mating all the time.

I agree, if she (he?) is not trying to eat the stuffing, give it back to her. Better she do it to the stuffy than your leg right?

If she is a he and this behaviour has just begun, you might be able to see the testicles – though not all boy buns have them visible…

and Mirbear, I know you have heard this all before…but if this hormonal behaviour is new, now is the time to be extra careful about keeping Twix and Hershey separated.

Girls definitely hump and circle. Assuming he/she isn’t fixed, you should be able to find testicles pretty easily. They’ll look like two little lumps near his tail. If he doesn’t have the lumps, he’s probably a female (could be a neutered male, or be pulling his testicles up, but if you check multiple times you should be able to see them if they’re there).

Rabbits are meant for reproducing all the time during their season…when we take them out of their natural habitat and don’t give them a chance to live a natural life, they end up frustrated and miserable with only one thing on their mind. As long as Twix is not neutered, please let him/her have the toy, so these sexual frustrations can be vented. And of course, get an appointment at the vet quickly, so he/she can have a less stressful life

A good way to check if it is a boy is to slightly place your fingers under his tail…you will defintely feel something if it is a boy. Or well, the easy way is to take a look, I guess -> coming from the person who for months mistakingly believed her sweet little toy-humping bunny was a girl

karla, i do have a problem with getting them fixed though… as many members know my mom will not allow me to get them fixan and also she wont let me even keep them in an x-pen… (i had to put twix back in that tiny cage didnt even have a chance to take pics)
id give the bunny back but its just as big as her and there is deffinatly not enough room in that cage for two big bunnies ;P

Sorry, I forgot that you mum wouldn’t let you. I do hope she changes her mind. Well, I recommend that you let Twix kep the stuffed toy, although I have read somewhere that it might make the humping worse, but I do think it is important that the sexual frustration is vented somehow. Also, it might get worse when they can smell each other, so perhaps try to do something about that?

I was just going to add: You should get the book “Why does my rabbit…”. It’s a book about behavior and behavioural problems in bunnies. I disagree with a few of the things, the author writes, and especially the fact that she does not acknowledge neuter as a way of solving behavioural problems. However, for someone living with bunnies that are not meant to be neutered, it might be a good book, because she does suggest ways to solve certain issues.
