Hi there I built sunshine this cage about 6 weeks ago. Sunshine is a 6lb american sable. My mom said the other day that cage is way to small for her. I was wondering what other people think. I can make the cage a little bit bigger. I was thinking of making it a little bit bigger and put her cottontail cottage in her cage? I would appreciate some input thanks!

It looks a little on the small side to me. Not super terrible if she’s getting lots of exercise time, but a little small. Is she a jumper? I used those same cubes and made a pen instead of a cage. Although the pen is only two squares tall, and the buns can actually stretch up and put their noses over it, they don’t jump out. If you wanted to give her more space but don’t have many more of the cubes, you could try that. Plus, not having a cover on top of the pens makes them much easier to pick up. Although your bun looks very tidy 🙂

I dont think its too small as long as you let her out for a significant time of day.

I’m fairly sure you’ve posted before (about adding levels maybe?) and were told that its too small… That cage might just look similar though.

I saw on a website about adding a second level so I am going to make it bigger and add a 2nd level. I have a cottontail cottage and I am not sure if I am going to put that in her cage or not. I am tight on space so I will have to see what works. Thanks for the tips.
