So my rabbits are NOT officially bonded, my female is only 11 weeks so she is unable to be spayed but I do plan on spaying her, my male however is around a year and a half and is neutered. Normally I try to keep her away from his cage when she’s out, to avoid any accidents but today she flopped a couple of times near his cage and he even flopped near her too! I managed to get a picture. Is this a good sign? For now? When my older rabbit is out he doesn’t even care about the little one – both live in my room but are kept in separate cages. But I still keep an eye on them both, I was just wondering if this is a good sign, should I let them do this? Or should I move her when she gets too close to his cage? I am aware that it is possible for one of them to bite each other other through the cage, but my little one always flops near his cage (when she’s out and decides to flop) and usually my other rabbit will just sniff her for 2 seconds and go eat hay or he will flop near her like in the picture I’m about to post, he does not seem to be in a threatening position at all.

Should I let this carry on? Or carry her else where so she can flop somewhere else away from his cage?

They have not been introduced properly, or officially and I do not plan on doing so until she is fully grown / a month post spay.

I think this is fine to carry on. It is too soon to know if it is a sign as they have not had any real interaction.

Okay thanks! I just don’t want to continue this if this will affect them negatively when I try to bond them (officially) but if it seems fine then I guess there is no harm in continuing!

I don’t think there is any harm, as long as there is no aggression. They look pretty relaxed to me.

Thank you, sometimes my older rabbit will make threatening moves/ grunt but it is not very often and he seems to be calming down – but this is still something I am very wary about.
