My baby girl Stevie is a mostly indoor rabbit almost 1 year old, has been desexed for all most 4 weeks now
and is a lone rabbit. I have had her almost a year.
I let her free roam at night while my family are all in the lounge room.
I’m not sure what the problem is but she is literally driving me insane, she used to
be moderately placid and sit for cuddles but now she won’t let me pet her and all she
does is dig and chew at the carpet and furniture.
What am I doing wrong? Or are these usual behavioural problems for a rabbit
        of this age?

I think your girl is going through what’s known as a post-spay craze. It’s about the body and brain adjusting to the abrupt stop in the production of female hormones. To compensate, her adrenal glands could be making more testosterone. There are other things involved as well. Anyway, this is not at all uncommon. It’s normal and it subsides, it can take a fairly long time, sometimes several months.

My first bunny was really hormonal and would hump everything. (Sorry for the tmi) but after I got him neutered he stopped. I think it took about two months for all his hormones to settle down. Maybe your bunny needs to get some extra energy out, and you could try letting her run around more.

Aside from what the others have said, bunnies do change as they get older. Bunnies naturally chew and dig. Asriel never dug or chew before his neuter and ever since he was neutered all he does is dig
