This may be a stupid question. But a guy that I work with said he could bring my in some timothy hay that he feeds his horses cuz he gets it so cheap. I wondered if it’s the same kind I feed the buns and if it would be ok for me to take some?? Thanks!!

Yep, same stuff. Plenty of people buy hay by the bale to cut down costs.

Horse quality hay is considered to be a higher quality- as horses are more sensitive than other hay eating large livestock.  As long as it is not loaded with alfalfa it is fine to feed.  I buy my bunny hay by the bale- and as long as it is grass hay it is fine to feed- just make sure it is clean, fresh smelling and has no moisture or mold.  But if he knows horses- he would not be feeding it to his horses then.
