I hope I’m just overreacting here…little Bun Bun is 10 weeks old and I just got him 11 days ago.
I noticed one string of fur that seemed to be sticking to his fur both over and below the front of his eye and I kept brushing it away gently until it gave way from the top and just stuck out in front of his eye like a stray fur…
Over the past days I’ve noticed that that original piece of fur seems to have hardened and turned to a lighter, more string-like piece, with what looks like new fur growing beneath it…I’ve tried to brush it with my thumb without pulling on it since it seems very stuck or definitely attached to his skin…it isn’t coming out of the lacrimal duct/caruncle, but rather in front of it…It does seem to bother him when I touch it, but that’s probably because it is so close to his eye in a vulnerable spot.
However, on his left eye, there doesn’t seem to be fur growing in that particular spot. There is no redness or discharge, he is eating and drinking totally normally (alfalfa pellets, timothy and alfalfa hay, and about 1 tsp calf manna a day as treats since this is how we was transitioned to pellets).
I hope you can kinda see what it is in these pictures (last pic is his normal left eye). I hope it’s just fur growing in a weird spot and the hardened piece can be trimmed once it’s longer…
