Last week I noticed on one side of my rabbit’s exercise pen, there would sometimes be this dark orange like pee spot. It’s always on the outside kind of lining the bottom bars of the pen. Is my rabbit spraying? Or is this just actual pee because there’s no wet spots in the side of the litter box. It’s just always on the outside of this pen. My bun is 3.5 months old now and I do have another rabbit that’s separated so I’m not sure if he/she can feel the presence or what.

Is this a sign I should be making an appointment for a spat/neuter or a check-up for one?

What gender is your rabbit? A male is much more likely to spray than a female. A female will scatter poop though. If it is a male, then it most likely is your rabbit spraying.

It’s a male. Okay, I’ll probably try and see if i can make an appointment to get a consultation about when he can get neutered. Thank you.

I’ve had a female rabbit spraying, they do it aswell. They spray pee and it will look like scattered pee indeed (it can be on the walls as well or on you even if you’re too close by D: )

I discovered my female Dawn could spray during Hurricane Irma. She was jealous Clover was sleeping with me, so she’d pee on her back feet and them flick them at me, to mark me as her own, or to mark Clover as hers, I’m not sure which.

So yes, females can spray, and creatively too.
