I have two bonded adult rabbits, Antonio and Lexi. They’ve been together about 9 months. Today while at work, Lexi Jumped her way out of the their playpen. When I got home I was able to corral her back into the pen, but as soon as she was in Antonio attacked her and they got in a fight. Is it normal for that to happen under these circumstances? I have them seperated now, each in seperate pens side by side. Should I be alarmed by today’s events?

Even bonded couples can go through tiffs.  She may have jumped out of the pen because they were fighting so you just never know.  Has anything changed lately at all?

If you notice aggression again tomorrow, I would take them on a car ride and see if the “stressing” method helps them realize how much they need each other again.

If they continue to fight, you may have to go through a bonding process again just to get them back on track.

Thanks for the advice. They are back to their normal cuddly selves today!
