I have 2 bonded rabbits. One of them is extremely well socialized and doesn’t startle easily, is calm and likes people. The other is calm around people but dislikes being touched or held. I want to start training the socialized bunny to be a therapy animal, I think she would be a fantastic one but I don’t believe that the other one ever could be. How would this work? Would it be OK to take one bun out to training and on therapy visits for hours at a time while leaving the other one at home?
Would I be able to take the socialized bun to the vet by herself etc.?

Unfortunately I think separating them like that is going to break their bond. The socialized one is going to come back smelling like a different rabbit from all of the places it has been. I would take both of them to the therapy training and make sure they can still see each other. That will reduce the chance of the bond breaking.

Blue is my emotional support animal and Bombur is his bondmate. Blue loves people and Bombur attacks people. I can take Blue away from him for about an hour at a time. Any longer than an hour, and Bombur stops eating, starts thumping, and is generally very terrified of his surroundings. Because of this, Blue is semi retired and now my third (solo) bun, Badger is my new ESA since he can be with me out of the house for as long as his health is ok.

So, basically, I also dont recommend you split the pair, based on how my pair are.
