I have a lovely little bunny named Gizmo, he’s a very relaxed and social little dude and he doesn’t take much time to get used to people at all, however obviously being his owner he’s very different with me than visitors and I have bonded with him very well. Me and my girlfriend were watching him in his own and she seemed to notice that if I lay down on the sofa , he lays down in his pen. If I get up, he gets up. I tested it and every time I did either he copied however if I leave the room and she does it he doesn’t bother and continues playing or doing whatever he was beforehand.
I just wondered if this is normal or if it’s quite a unique little trait he has, I found it quite cute that my little best friend does what I do!

I guess you could look at his eyes and body language to see if it is a fear reaction. wide eyes or alert ears and posture when you get up.

sometimes my bunnies get up when i get up because I am the primary food and treat provider so they always think they are getting fed.

Rabbits are very food oriented, so Wick will always get up when I do, especially if it’s towards the kitchen. It could also be the result of just wanting to be near you. Wick will relax, groom, and eat hay in the litterbox outside my restroom when I am in there getting ready in the morning. He’ll also sit by my feet and groom while I brush my teeth.

It sounds like you two have bonded! Bonded pairs of rabbits are seldom out of eachother’s sight – when one leaves the room the other will follow. This is because they are good friends, but also because of safety in numbers. An extra pair of eyes looking out for danger means the bun can be more relaxed. So when you lay down, he knows there is no “danger,” and he can relax too. He is probably just showing you that you are part of his warren now, and a big happy family
