        Hi Everyone!

My bunny Moose is about 7 months old and recently he begun to lose hair in his ears and they felt sort of rough. I didn’t notice over-grooming then but now I see him messing with them fairly often. They are also really red and it’s not like there is a ‘patch’ or anything which makes me think it might not be ring work. It initially started as the tip of his ears were losing hair and now his whole ear doesn’t have as much hair. I thought maybe he was really had since we recently had a heat wave and our AC unit was broken during that time (Don’t worry, I had a small little fan blowing over his cage and a cool water bottle, etc.) he was still fairly active during the heat wave which makes me think he dealt with it okay.  I also thought it could be from him accidentally dipping his ears in his water bowl once in a while. However, I’ve had him since he was a little over two months old and the same bowl so I don’t think that’s it. I read online that I could use some organic coconut oil for dry spots so I’ve been putting that on his ears but I’m not sure it’s helping much. He also isn’t molting.

I recently broke my foot which is why I am posting here before I try and find someone who can take us both to the vet! I’ll add a photo for reference.

Btw, there’s some irritation on the inside as well! Same sort of rough feeling but I haven’t seen any flaky skin yet. Might be because of the coconut oil!
