In October 2020 I rescued a bunny who was being given away on craigslist. She is most likely a florida white, she’s 4lbs and is probably about a year old. She had minor injuries which healed on their own and she has always been a very calm and loving bunny. When we first got her she had very regular green poops but in december her poops suddenly became dark brown like in the photo. I thought this might be because of a change in brand of hay (always timothy hay) but after going back to the brand we had been using before, her poops stayed dark. I also tried cutting down on veggies because I read dark poop can mean she’s getting too much protein (I feed about a cup of greens a day). I was beginning to just accept she has dark poop now but yesterday I noticed the size of her poops is irregular some are very small and some are oval shaped almost, this can be seen in the photo… this is very worrying to me I read that it could be megacolon but she has never had diarrhea or mucus in her poop.
She acts completely the same she is still a hoppy and lovey bunny she doesn’t seem stressed or in pain. I don’t know if this is something that could be serious and needs to be checked out. I really do not have the money to pay for a vet visit i’m just a broke college student. Does anyone have input on this?
