Karma is not spayed yet but will be spayed on the 4/21. I have put her cage next to Gizmo and Shamrock’s cage so they can see and sniff each other but not touch. They have had two meetings in the kitchen, gizmo was nice the first day but nipped her a couple of times the next meeting. Shamrock groomed her their first meeting and the second ignored her. Is there anything I should be aware of when trying to introduce a new rabbit to a bonded pair? I’m just taking if very slow so that no one gets stressed or fights.

Sounds like your doing well. I would take it really slow until about four weeks after her spay. She’ll smell different after and that may undo part of your hard work!

The way I’ve heard to do it for a trio is to bond the single rabbit to each of the pair, then do group sessions. But bunnies are all different and you’ll want to judge how they do and do sessions that work best for your bunnies.

I was just going to research this too if we do decide to get a third one.  I’m a little nervous though, don’t want to get in over my head.  Would you suggest bringing both on a bunny date and taking each out seperately to introduce them to the other rabbit…but then I was thinking she still needs spayed so that probably wouldn’t matter would it?

I haven’t succesfully bonded a trio, but there are some members who have and here some past advice they’ve given to another member who wanted to bond a trio as well.
