she’s a mini, and her dad was TINY so she should stay pretty small.

The poor little thing is all nervous though. too many people cooing at her! tonight i’m going to make sure she gets lots of alone time.

a suggestion for you. you might want to put the hay in the litterbox, rather than in the bottom of the cage. that would encourage her to use the litterbox while she eats the hay. try just a towel, rag rug, or straw mat in the bottom of the cage.

Thanks Beka, I have some straw in the litter box but i will just leave it all there from now on, at least til she gets trained. She seems to go potty anywhere BUT her box.

not a problem. for more litter tips, you can check the bunny info section at the top of the page, under litterbox training. she look pretty young, is she spayed yet? if not, once that’s done her habits should improve as well.

Awe *sigh* my first bun was named Trixie, she was an agouti though. I hope she’s as sweet as my Trixie was, she LOVED to snuggle up on the bed with me.

Congrats Katydidz! You’ve finally made the leap (bunny hop) into rabbit ownership – you won’t regret it!!
Trixie looks lovely!! She will be nervous but let her explore and approach you and she’ll soon become less frightened. It’s good to handle them often but for short intervals while young so they get used to it. Happy times ahead!

Oh, so pretty! Congratulations! (Don’t be hurt if she doesn’t leap into your lap immediately…I’ve only had my bun for 5 weeks, and she likes me more everyday! Or…she tolerates me in HER house more everyday…)

Yeah, Trixie’s very young, the lady I got her from said she was 8 weeks but I sort of doubt it. I think she’s closer to 5 or 6 weeks, SO young. But the lady already had her separated from her mama and was keeping her outside in 111 degree weather (I live in the high desert in Utah) so I had to take her, I wish I could have taken her brothers and sisters too. She was just a little bundle in the corner, cooking in the heat. She seems to be transitioning very well though. The first couple days she was nervous but would let me snuggle her without any problems and would push her little head up under my chin. I’m trying to give her plenty of space to adjust and I think we’re getting used to each other and now she’ll approach me when i’m on her level (she used to go hide in the corner) last night I took her outside to play and she was hopping all over the place and climbing up into my lap, she LOVES the outdoors (I only take her out in the evening when it drops below 80). I think we’re going to be good friends.
