I was wondering if anyone had any tips for encouraging their picky rabbits to try new foods? Finnegan is wayyy more picky out of the two of them, as he is around 5 or so and didn’t get any fresh foods before coming to me. He will eat a bit of spinach if he runs out of pellets or hay, and will sometimes fling a baby carrot around, but he just doesn’t seem very interested in fresh foods. He doesn’t even like bananas!! *gasp* haha I have tried broccoli, cucumbers, apples, different types of lettuce and kale, but he doesn’t like them. The only thing he *loved* was dandelions (fresh, not dried), but they are unfortunately out of season.
Loki is way more open to trying new foods (even if he doesn’t like them),so I am not as concerned about him. Oddly enough, he doesn’t really care for bananas either, but will eventually eat it if I leave it in his bowl. (And I tried different brands/strains and organic in case there was something wrong with the fruit, because I couldn’t believe the odds of having 2 rabbits that didn’t like bananas ?)
I guess just any tips, or new foods to try that your picky buns like would be very much appreciated =). I just want my babies to have as healthy of a diet as possible, and the happiest lives I can give them ❤
