Hi! I am new to this forum, so I thought I would introduce myself. I love bunnies, but have never owned one. I have researched them 3-4 years though!! I am taking care of someone’s rabbit right now for 3 weeks. The bunny’s name is Spinner and her owner only had her 1 week before she went on vaction! Spinner was also a secret santa gift! I want a secret santa!! Oh well. I do have three rats right now too. They are very hyper and loud! But I love them. Spinner compared to them is so quiet and calm!! I also have an American Staffordshire Terrier dog. Well I am looking forward to getting to know you!!

welcome here!  are you having fun with Spinner?  if you’re thinking about getting a rabbit of your own, there are many (many) rabbits in shelters and rescues that are looking for homes.  you may want to consider that route because you’ll be (in most cases) getting a rabbit that’s already neutered or spayed and past the destructive teenager stage.  stick around, and feel free to ask us any questions.  and yes, please do refer your friend to this site and/or  http://www.rabbit.org  there is so much to proper rabbit care that extends far beyond a cage and pellets, and for this reason they typically do not make good gifts at all.  rabbits are amazing, intelligent creatures, especially if given the right environment to thrive.

Spinner is lots of fun! I want to get a rabbit very much, but my parents said I shouldn’t since I have 3 rats already. Although they are starting to love Spinner after just 2 days!

well, rabbits are not low-maintenance (or inexpensive) pets.  food and cage costs do add up, as well as vet care which is usually more expensive than for cats and dogs since buns are considered "exotic".  rabbits are also prone to more issues because of their delicate digestive systems.  if you can’t afford the vet costs, will your parents be able to pick up the slack?  if you live with your parents they may also object to the fact that if not properly bunny-proofed (and even with proper bunny-proofing) some damage is likely to occur to your home and belongings.  if you’re old enough, have you considered looking into volunteering at a rabbit shelter near you?  you could help the rabbits out, learn more about them and what their care entails, and make a real decision if you could have your own.
