Can anyone help me in the preparation of a form for potential owners of my babies?

What information I can put in the form would be very helpful.

        Thank you

          Hi Lisa,

We use two forms for our adoption process at the rescue I work with.  One is a pre-adoption questionnaire, which is mostly to let potential adopters know what is involved in keeping a house rabbit (food, housing, spay/neuter, etc) and also to determine if the home is appropriate for a bunny (all members of the household want the bunny, no allergies, dogs/cats are compatible, etc).  Once that form is filled out, a counselor goes over the answers with the adopter, and if it looks good, they sign an adoption contract.  The contract states that we will always take the bunny back, that they are not allowed to give the bunny away or dump it at a shelter.  Here are links to the forms.  You have permission to use them however you think would be helpful:

          Contract: therabbithaven.org/adoption_contract.htm

            Hello,

Here is also the link to the Bunny Bunch adoption contract:

You can also take questions from there if you find them helpful!

              Hi Lisa
I wanted to offer you an experience of mine. Obviously I really love animals and I am really quite crazy about them… Well the last dog shelter I volunteered at, I had a hard time when puppies or dogs were adopted. But I wanted to let you know that when they go to the right home and you see how excited the family is to have the puppy/dog (or in your case, baby bunny of course!) it does warm your heart! Another thing that helped me was to know (although not like) that you simply can’t keep and care for EVERY animal, so letting them go is the best thing you can do for them…I hope this helps you a bit when you part ways with your babies! *hugs* Good luck!!

Thanks for the help everyone I really appreciate it.

Also thankyou for the permission to use your adoption forms it will make things a lot easier.

K&K I know what you are saying and thankyou, unfortunately bunny lovers here are hard to find.

I really wish these little ones were born in America as It would be easier to find good homes.

I have decided that I am going to take my time, there is no hurry in finding homes for them and I want to make sure it is a good home.

I forgot, will this be a legal document or should I take it to a lawer?

If you have a lawyer who can advise you on the adoption contract that would be good since obviously the Rabbit Haven contract is a US group and not Australian and it can never hurt to get some legal advice and to make sure the wording is correct for your situation.

Wouldn’t hurt to have your lawyer look at the adoption application as well to see if they have any suggestions on that as well. It’s really more for your benefit to screen potential adopters but you don’t want them to lie on this either.
