Hi All – first time post.

I have 2 indoor rabbits. Bob is 11 months old and Bella is approx 9 months old. They lived quite happily side by side until recently when Bella started to become hormonal and agrresive towards poor Bob! Bella is due to be spayed soon but until then I need to keep them seperate – and of course there is no guarantee they will re-bond.

Currently they are in 2 basic indoor rabbit cages – the wire type you get in Pets at Home with plastic clips. They are stacked on top of each other.

The weight of one cage has bent the bars on the other. Bob has also managed to chew threw each and every cage clip. This bun is like Houdini! They both have plenty of foraging and chew toys but he always chooses to chew the cage.

I’m looking for a more robust solutuion which would allow me to keep them seperately. Has anyone seen anything like this? TIA

A puppy play pen each would be best with a roof attached. Pet shop cages are not adequately sized anyway.

Hi! Since Bob is a master escape artist maybe you could construct two separate cages out of c&c grids? The grids are pretty sturdy, and you can even reinforce them with some wood. That way, you could build two cages that are larger and more escape proof than the cages they are using now. It’s cheaper than the cages the pet store sells too.

You could also turn C&C cages into a huge combined cage later if you did manage to bond them, so would be less wasteful
