        To Cotton – March 1st, 2021

this is in memory of cotton, who was my best friend I’ve ever had.

        cotton,

you are the reason I laughed. you are the reason I’ve smiled and held on. and I never thought you’d leave this early. you would be turning a year old in 4 days. you are the reason I made friends and connected with family and took more pictures and went on more adventures. you’re the reason I joined new clubs and started new activities and tried harder in school. you’re the reason I’ve progressed and changed.

cotton, I don’t know how I’m going to live without you. I’m crying just writing this to you. remember that I already love you and as you died in my mother’s arms, I won’t forget the look on your face. it’s as if you told me it’d be okay. and I know that you’ll be watching over me with some of my past family members and pets and will be proud of me as I continue to progress.

cotton, I love you. you’re so much to me. even when you were destroying your pen, breaking into the treats, and doing zoomies around the kitchen, you were still loved by everybody in the family. but you were my rabbit, which is why I’m writing this post.

cotton, I’ll never forget you. you’re the reason I’m working so hard. to become an exotic vet to help other distressed pets like you. and although it seems so hard right now to move on, I will never forget the times you came up and licked my tears away, attended classes with me, and starred in your own photoshoots for my photography competitions.

so cotton, as I’m writing this, I know you’re looking down on me and laughing at the memory of all of these times. you have had many genetic health issues since we adopted you, determined by the vet, and you recovered from your GI stasis, neutering, and UTI so fast. you’re the strongest being I know.

so I sit and here and wonder, is there something i could have done to prevent this?  and I’m sure there is. but I can’t go back and change time. if I could, trust me, I would.

you even visited my nana and snuggled in her arms, fell asleep with us while we watched movies, and snacked on bananas with me. bananas were your favorite treat of all.

        i love you, cotton.

So sorry for your loss, but also so happy that you got this wonderful  creature to accompany you during part of your journey in life.  I wish you the best, the very best, of luck so you can someday become an exotic vet and help our sweet bunnies live a good life.  Clearly, you understand the purpose of having a angel pet in life.  May the universe bless you and your family for adopting Cotton.  Please keep us updated if you eventually get the privilege of being a mama bunny again.

To Cotton: “Bink happily in heaven, little one.  If you come across this messy-haired, grey lionhead named Lola, say hi to her from Mama Bunny Rose, and especially Bugs.  Have fun 😉 “.

Oh, I am so sorry!! <3

Horrible things happen, where we often have no one to blame, and mistakingly chose ourselves. None of this was your fault, you did everything any of us here could have done and more! When I read that post, I see a happy family, a happy bunny, and a happy life. I know that Cotton was extremely lucky to land a life with someone as amazing and beautiful as you. 🙂

It’s always so hard when they cross over, but know that he never actually left you. He will always be there right next to you, watching over you, and guiding you through the journey you set out here to accomplish. Know that Cotton wants to look down and see the you that he knew before, happy and bright. You will achieve great things in this world; anyone can see the talent in you. 🙂

We are always here for you!! Whether you need advice, a shoulder to cry on, or just a friend to talk to, we are here. 🙂

            Smile 🙂 Laugh 🙂 Be Happy 🙂

That Cotton had a beautiful life. Sounds like you had him at the vets all the times he needed to go to the vets. I believe we blame ourselves even tho it wasnt our fault. My Cotton Boo McChew passed 3 years ago.  I firmly believe they visit us. Know your Cotton visits you.  He truly appreciated the good life you gave him.  He was a lucky bun. It hurts when they move to their next life. Your Cottons life is now filled with his favorite food. Bananas. He is free from genetic conditions and imperfect health. Remember the good times always. Plus you make him proud that your goal is to become a veterinarian. His life served a greater purpose.  He appreciates this goal of yours and is there with you. I am with you too.  So are the rest of us

I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s so horrible when they are so young. 🙁

It’s clear he was very loved and had an amazing life with you, short though it was. And that’s so wonderful that he inspired you to become a vet to help other bunnies. <3

Binky free sweet Cotton! You are so missed because you are so loved. It’s amazing how bunnies can make your life different, even if they’re only with us for a short time. Cotton would be so proud to see you become a vet and help other buns!
