Sorry I haven’t had a chance to update you guys in a little bit, things have been pretty crazy around work and it seems all I want to do when I get home is sit on the floor with my babies so the computer has been getting ignored for the most part.
Henri and Acorn are starting to really confuse me though. They were together for a while and being fine, then Acorn started digging at Henri’s butt again so I separated them. Since then, they have had a few meetings but it always seemed to quickly escalate into circling/nipping at eachother. They never really fought like you guys describe bunny fights, Acorn got a mouth full of Henri fur a few times but no flying fur or anything.
The wierd thing is, when they are out, the one that’s out almost always spends the majority of his time laying right beside the other one who is in the pen.
I woke up at like 2am and Acorn had decided to jump the pen again (it is really not a problem at all for him to jump the 2 NIC cubes, he just knows he isn’t supposed to and normally he won’t, I made the gate to Lilly’s room three pens and he can’t jump that one. ) They were out running around and didn’t seem to be fighting at all. Since I had to get up in like two hours anyway, I decided to let them stay out and see how it went. I’m a pretty light sleeper so I brought them into the bedroom so I could hear if any trouble started. They didn’t have any problems, in fact, I think they were having a binky contest this morning, lol. When I got up this morning and let them out of the bedroom, they ran around the house and I swear they were trying to see who could do the most binkies in a row. Henri does this sometimes on his own but I have NEVER seen Acorn do that many binkies!
Since they seemed to be so happy (I was up with them for atleast an hour before I had to leave) and I saw no signs of circling going on, I decided to leave them out for the day. Matt will be home until about an hour before I get home and he knows to separate them if they start to fight at all and I’m sure they will be fine for an hour by themselves.
Since the bonding thing is so new to me, I was wondering what you guys think. Should I just leave them together and let them work out their issues on their own? I would really like the boys to be bonded before they get to meet Lilly, I just don’t know if it is going to work out for me or not. I think I might be overreacting when I separate them at the first sign of Acorn digging but they were just neutered a little over four weeks ago so I guess I’m still a little worried about their incision sights.
