Would that still be what it’s called when you’re in trouble with a bun?  Well regardless I’ve definitely lost my honorary bun status!

I don’t know what I did honestly.  First it started with some poop wars in her pen.  No new animal around but she got a bit defensive about me so maybe *I* was the other animal???  Anyway, that’s how it started.

Then on Monday I brought her up to work.  No issues getting her in the carrier, no issues that day around the bedroom.  She hopped around, did bunny 500s on the bed and lounged on the bed most of the day.  When it was time to go back downstairs though she gave me a hassle.  Finally Mike got her in and I was stupid and opened the carrier slightly to put in her stuffy and out she popped.  Ugh.  So, we had to catch her again and lur her in there with raisins and she growled and was NOT a happy bun.  Soo…i thought whatever she’ll get over it! After all, she was just in the carrier for a few minutes to be carried downstairs and put in her BIG run area..she had the dining room area AND kitchen to play in.  Well..she was still PO’d.  That night she growled at me again when she had to move from her big run area into her pen.  And I’m sorry but if you’re gonna eat carpet Tucker…you’re going in the pen at night.  I don’t want to come down in the AM and find out that the dining room has been eaten!

So, ok next day..yesterday I’m thinking all is forgiven by now FOR SURE.  *eehhh* (that was the buzzer saying I was wrong) she was not happy about even going IN the carrier.  Now she LOVES the bedroom.  It’s her favorite part of the day! So I made her get in thinking that once she got upstairs she’d see what I was trying to do and be happy.  Was I ever wrong.  I got the bunny but for a good hour and then she’d lay down half facing me giving me the one ear forward look.  And the stink eye….alllll day.  Anytime I got near her she’d flick off.  I moved my laptop off the desk to go sit with her..she left.  Then I went back to my desk later in the day and she then got back on the bed and gave me the bunny butt for the rest of the day.  Time to go back down, more growls.

I was thinking that this is because she’s not spayed yet.  But she’s only like this with me!! Mike comes in the room and it’s binkies ahoy!  She comes over and nuzzles him, binkies for him, flops for him.  She’s just crazy for Mike and hates me.

        Now…here’s the TMI part probably…but

Can rabbits sense when a woman is having her cycle?  I started mine on Thursday but Mike had off Thurs/Fri/Sat so I wasn’t around Tucker as much as he was because I wasn’t feeling so hot either.  Sunday I was around her but I didn’t take her up to work because I had ALOT to do.  So Monday was the first day that she was really around me while I had it.  Could she have sensed that the way that dogs can or the way that women’s bodies sense it and get in rhythm?  Could she be territorial because she thinks I’m in heat or something????  I know that sounds bizarre but that’s really the only thing that’s changed.  Unless she’s really just holding a grudge about having to go back downstairs on Monday.  BTW today she tolerates me (cycle over too btw) but she’s not all lovey dovey with me that’s for sure.

I’m trying to be a good bunny slave and all and I dont know what I am doing wrong!  I’ve seriously been like a stalker ex or something..trying to bring her gifts and stuff to make her happy lol.  I gave her this basket of mine that she had been eyeing but dind’t want to give her because it held my clothes so cutely.  I brought down her rag rug, everything.  She says bunny butt to you woman!

lol! i have no clue about the cycle thing. but i think it’s hilarious to think that now we have one more thing to be concerned about…. haha! (poor male BB members!) she probably likes being up there with you so much… when does she get spayed? it might also just be hormones making her a bit cranky…

Probably not til late next month

I figured it was just that she liked being upstairs but she doesn’t act nicer when she’s upstairs lol.  She gave me bunny butt all day upstairs yesterday lol.  She wasted all her upstairs time being cranky lol.

Today I didn’t even attempt to bring her upstairs thinking maybe it was the carrier that scared her.  She seems happy enoough downstairs today although I know she loves being in here too   But, I might be going out to lunch today so I didn’t want to bring her up only to have to get her back down again mid-day.  I just went down and cleaned her pen on break….huge poop war with herself that she had last night.  So I rearranged some hay..thinking maybe I can get this atleast under control until her spay.  Luckily she’s still peeing in her box She had two spots that she does that in and putting the litter spot in those has done the trick ..atleast until she moves the spots again! haha

I used to either pick up, or use a carrier to try to move Lizzy from place to place, and got all the same reactions you’re getting. She was very mean to me, with stink eye and bunny-butt ALL the time, and as soon as I stopped trying to move her from place-to-place routinely (of course, I still have to put her in a carrier occassionally, but it’s not EVERY DAY), she stopped all the nasty looks. I think she was afraid every time she saw me that I was going to grab her somehow… Can you find a way to NOT have to move her around? That may help..

I do believe that at least female rabbits can tell when a woman starts her cycle. My girlfriend’s other bun, Georgie, would get real uppity whenever she would start hers and didn’t want to be held or have her near her. I can’t tell you if it will get better after spaying though – sorry.

Heheh what attitude!! Is it possible not to put her in the carrier? Maybe carry her by hand or get her to follow you to ‘work’?

Is it possible to shoo her out of your work/upstairs, and coerce her into going downstairs on her own?

Well she really can’t have complete freedom of the house because of the dogs, but I was thinking if I could block off enough areas I could maybe shoo her to the upstairs.  Otherwise I guess she’s just not going to go up to work with me.  I know she likes it once she gets there but if the trip up is upsetting her that much then it’s just not worth it I don’t think.

She’s still been a little off to me today but she has been binkying around the downstairs alot more.

My daughter cannot get into the xpen with the buns when she is cycling. (Which she also is right now, so there goes my extra hands for nail trims!) They both get really irate around her when she’s on the rag.

I went through menopause during my treatments, so I don’t have to worry about it anymore, thank God!

Wow crazy!  That’s definitely what it was then.  Funny that I never noticed if before, but I guess there was always times that she was a bit moody but it wasn’t as noticeable because I wasn’t really trying to get her to do anything..and I just never put two and two together before!  I guess in the future I know not to try to get her to do anything with me during that time of the month!

Can it have the same affect on boy buns!?!? When I started my . I noticed that Atti started pooping all over his area! But he’s not mean or anything out of the usual to me. Maybe he’s just a pooper lol

Honestly I had wondered about cycles.

Before Coco was spayed, all of her “false pregnancy” symptoms and heavy duty romancing of my arm would start RIGHT before my period.
                              Like clockwork.

I thought it was odd, but maybe only a coincidence….
