        http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/pet/834140489.html

We have two 1 year old rabbits up for adoption. They’re both female and both are inseparable, if you take one you have to have room in your home and heart for the other.
One is a black Netherland Dwarf and the other is a Lop-eared dwarf (the larger breed with floppy ears) We’ve raised these bunnies since they were 4 weeks old in our apartment but as long as rabbits live we’ve decided its not fair for them to live in this small space. These animals are great with people and other pets but be aware if looking for a child rabbits are nothing like dogs as far as nature and not good for small children.
They’re a high maintenance animal, require a good ammount of attention, but its definetly a rewarding experience to raise these bunnies, they love to be out and about and are potty-trained as well as you can train a rabbit.

We are including with the rabbits the top of the line cage a “wabbitat” which we bought new for the pair a few months ago for $70, its specially designed for rabbits.
We’re also including food and toys, pretty much everything you need to start out. These rabbits have been spoiled since they we’re babies and we’re looking for someone who’s interested and ready for the responsibility.
We’re also asking a small adoption fee of $20 for the cage, food, toys, treats, litter, and misc things we’re including.

            Aww…It’s ANOTHER Mimzy! And she has a friend! ;_;

What for do all these cute bunnies have to live in the 48??? Huh? I would have a hard time not snatching them up.

However, I would guess with the way these folks wrote the ad, they are going to screen potential adoptives…the fee is small, but I think it’s to encourage people in these hard times.

If they set it at, say $50, I don’t think anyone would even consider it.

I don’t know why it’s not working honestly..if it’s just the small apartment I really don’t think the rabbits would care….

I just worry that as much as they love their buns they’re going to give them to someone who’s going to end up using them as snake food.  A lot of the people who get animals for that reason don’t actually come out and say “I’m going to feed her to my snake” or “I’m going to feed her to my dog that I am training to fight”  (I watch too much CSI..I really shouldn’t) and may seem like good people.

I know they’d want to keep the price low to entice people but really if someone can’t afford 50 bucks for two rabbit with cage and supplies then are they really going to be able to afford their fresh veggies, good hay, litter, and vet visits?  Not to mention she doesn’t say they are spayed so they might have to have that done too to avoid cancer.

I definitely have a complex though of wanting to save every animal and then getting depressed that I can’t

Maryann and Dono get way too much cage time because my apartment is so small and I am a terrible housekeeper.  I don’t let them out until I am 100% certain that there isn’t anything dangerous for them to get into and even then, I”m still wrong 10% of the time.  I know it is my fault that they don’t get out because I can’t pick up after myself but even when everything is in its place, there’s still very little room for them to run around in.

My first thought is always about how I could fit them in. But really, my plate is already too full. I’d even love to take them in and rehome them on my own but I don’t have the resources to spay them. I refuse to place an unaltered animal in a home on nothing but a promise to follow through.

                          They are adorable though.

I understand how you feel Markus, I have a whole house I can’t keep clean enough for my bunnies to wander in, so they get relegated to the two xpens. It makes me sad.

And I also bleed for all these potential rescues I can’t help, Tuck. You and I are on the same wavelength there I think.
Still I appreciate that TARM posts these things…who knows, perhaps someday she’ll alert me to something I can have a hand in.
