Sorry for all the posting, but I did it again.  I got a guinea pig a few years back, knowing nothing about them.  I realized how bad of a move this was– you should always research first.  Well, Evie, my lionhead, was kind of the same thing.  I did some research first, but since I’ve joined this site I’ve realized how unprepared I am! I want to be the best mommy for her.

She’s in a cage right now, and I plan to get her an ex-pen in a month.  We’re still bodning and she’s not fully potty trained, so I can’t give her free range yet.  I’ll get her spayed once I find a good vet, and hopefully that will help with the potty training.  But, she gets so restless.  I feel bad because she doesn’t have a lot of space or out time (I try to give her at least an hour out and about in the bathroom with me.)

How can I be a better mommy until she’s potty trained/I get an expen?  I’m sure this sounds very paranoid and dramatic, but I feel like she’s my baby and I don’t want to mess up!

        Thanks.

Could you make something temporarily to block her off from things in a room until you get the xpen? Supervised of course. She should really get out more than and hour a day.  You should also put a 2nd litter box out in the expanded area.

I don’t know where you live in the Seattle area but I can recommend our vet who is a specialist in rabbits he is located on main street in Bothell.

Dr Maas is wonderful, he totally understands crazy bunny people like us!   We even board our 3 buns at his clinic when we go on vacation.

Dr. Nathanson trained at AMC in New York (one of the best “exotic” hospitals in the US.) In 1999 she began spaying/neutering the Redmond rabbits. Several years later she began spay/neuter surgeries for our g. pigs. We highly recommend her.
She also carries Lupron for ferrets.

I CANNOT VOUCH FOR HER B/C I DON’T KNOW HER, but you can call yourself and gather info.
