Sorry I am not proud of this but I need to get to the bottom of this! My son left facebook open on MY computer so I started looking and there was a huge picture of Marcy (the founder) from Save A Bunny with one of those GIANT and I mean GIANT bunnies that we all just went on and on about from Germany! He looked about 4 feet tall. I just have to find out if they have one or what that picture was all about!!! I guess I’ll have to call her! Maybe they are here after all! Does anyone know anything about this?
Wow, I have to admit the title of your post had me worried…Whew. Anyhoo, I am really not sure but would not be surprised if it was photoshopped or if they were here.
call her!!! i want to know!
His name is Sherwood. Not sure if he is still there.

Oh. My. Gawd. He is HUGE!!!! Wow. I am slightly concerned that they’re here though, that means breeders have them too. Oh lordy. I can’t think of how shelters are going to handle any number of these giants.
OMG! That’s the picture! Where did this picture come from, Osprey? How did you know about him and what’s the story????? I want him!
The picture is on the SaveABunny MySpace page. I had seen the picture before, as soon as you mentioned it I knew which one you meant.
According to the Save A Bunny website, Sherwood was adopted in March of 2007. His story is here http://www.saveabunny.com/?q=node/2614
Sherwood is a huge beautiful bunny! I remember when i first saw him there, I just had to go into his pen and hang out with him. It’s not very often that big big bunnies like that come in. Over the years, I remember seeing two other huge bunnies (not lops) and I just fell in love with them.
AAAAHHHHH! It’s the invasion of the Way-Too-Cute-Sasquatch-Bun! 0_0
My gosh that is the most beautiful creature I have ever seen! Can you imagine what my cats would think of somebun like that galumping around my kitchen? Or my kids?? I can hear it now, “Hey mom, what’s for lun……YEEEAAARRRGHHH! Is Mimzy on steroids??”
Oh he’s SOOOO beautiful!!! Oh gosh, I can’t stand it! I wish I’d know there were bunnies like this…this is like, my DREAM bunny! ^^ (No offense Mimz….. Just think of it like your bodyguard bun!)
Where are these supposed to come from? Germany? How on earth do they grow them THAT big??
I would love to own one of those giant buns someday!
Uhhhh OOOHHHH “DAVE PULLL LEAASSEEE can I have one!!!! ”

He looks like a French Lop to me – what a beauty.
Osprey – Thanks so much for getting this info! I have never seen this before on the Save a Bunny website. I guess he’s not as big as the German rabbits is he? Where’s our new German member????? Those weren’t lops were they? I have to find that thread.
MimzMum – you must have missed out discussion on these giants from Germany. I think they were more like 20+lbs.
P.S. I love this site! You ask a question? You get an answer!!!!
We had a 14 pound lop at the Scotts Valley shelter for a long time. He came in as a tiny dumped baby, and just kept growing and growing and growing. He thought he was a cat, and finally got adopted along with one of his cat buddies. His name is Baxter.

How cute! I’m so glad he got adopted along with a cat friend
I just feel so good about adoptions when the animal gets to go with a friend!

My brother had a Flemish Giant many years ago. Giant is an appropraite name for them. Wow those lops though. I’ve never seen bunnies that big!
I look all around in the FLorida area’s for rabbits just to see what’s going on around me and I saw somewhere in FLorida someone that breeds the Flemish Giants!
SHerwood is a cutie pie.
lolz…Just thought of this….
Q: Where does a 20 lb bunny binky?
A: ANYWHERE HE WANTS TO! ^^
Sorry, just had to say it.
I found this picture on the web while researching these beauties. (Think Herman’s last name might be Munster??) Look at those feet! And how do you watch out for the tender lumbar spine on a bunny this size?

Love the YouTube clip! How adorable!
i too got worried when i saw the post title! that bunny is massive! *picks chin off floow* who has room for one of those guys?? incredibly cute though i would have a hard time saying no!
I would love having a giant bun, but I can only imagine how much those things would cost to feed! Frankie and my piggy eat so much greens as it is!
