I don’t have a Flemmie and don’t plan to get one any time soon since I have a bonding pair (Holland lop and NZ white,  the latter of which is quite large enough for me right now).  Still, one day down the road, when these two are gone, I’d like to have a Flemmie, and was wondering if people usually (because of their large size) tend to have Flemmies as single buns, or if they successfully pair them with another Flemmie or breed.  Just curious!

Flemmies have been bonded with nethies. Size doesn’t matter, so they say. I’ll be bonding my lionhead and flemmie soon.

Yes, size doesn’t matter. The rabbit, regardless of size, would still benefit from a companion. You’ve seen firsthand how your two are interacting now. I think what the issue is sometimes is that flemmies cannot be caged in a traditional way due to their size. So you almost have to either do free roam, or have an entire room/space dedicated to the bunny. This means that BOTH buns need to have “free roam capability” if they are bonded.

Beka: I was thinking some Flemmies probably got to be about as big as a small dog (15-20lbs) but I would still want to have two rabbits because they are indeed wonderful together when bonded. Rarely now are Olive and Simon away from each other, and it’s so much fun to see them interact!
