Last night I was a little drunk lol and I was giving my bun some love but forgot that waterproof red lipsyick doesn’t mix with white rabbit fur… Me being drunk and stupid my first go to solution was makeup remover and a wet nap. All this did was make his fur oily and it took most of the lipstick off but his little head (where I got the lipstick in between eyes) is all oily and not fluffy and soft like it was how do I fix his fur since you’re not really supposed to bathe rabbits?

I shouldn’t be laughing, but the image of a white rabbit with lipstick prints all over him just strikes me funny! All humor aside, while I don’t remember reading anything offhand about cosmetics being harmful to rabbits, it’s probably a good idea not to let him groom that part and possibly lick it off his paws. Maybe try to trim very carefully with a small pair of scissors or something? Or just let it shed out, the fur will grow back in as fluffy and soft as always. I have a white bun of my own that I’ve taken to nose-booping and nuzzling on top of his head, too, and most of the time he takes it in good part.

Nothing as drastic as a trim. lol
Makeup is usually non-toxic since it goes on our faces (especially lippy stuff).
Get a damp washcloth and give his fur a good massage, then forget about it. In time, it’ll be back to normal. You could also rub in a bit of cornstarch (or baby powder) and then brush it out, but you’re likely to get it in his eyes, so better not.

As sad as it makes me to think about, many cosmetics are tested on rabbits…. so I doubt it will hurt him. Prob best just to leave it be and let it grow out! It can be a brand of your affection.
