        Thumper has a new friend…Here is Peaches…

She is about 5lbs to Thumps 3lbs. All in all, it was a GREAT first meeting. :bunnydance: and now she is home with us!

I came home and went to work on building my first nic cube…it is not the best but will do for now.  When they fully bond I will go to work on it.  Then I was off to petco to get a water bottle, dish, litter box and a dish.

Sooo, after all of that, I am proud to present PEACHES!!!

        Here are the two cuties!!

what an adorable couple!  how did the bonding go?  is she spayed yet?  Thumper must be so excited to have a friend!  [oh… and just a warning… you want to cut the celery into little pieces (about an inch long) b/c the long strings can cause problems… we don’t want the new girl to have any tummy trouble!]

Awe thx guys! She is spayed and the bonding is going. I’m not trying to rush it. I did a short session this morning in a pen I set up. They are also interacting through the cage (with supervision). This morning, little miss Peaches was a bit aggressive so I have my eyes on them.

Thx about the info on the celery. I’ll make sure to cut them from now on!

How exciting!! If they had a good first meeting, you should consider taking them on a car ride. You just plop them into the same carrier (its good to have someone with you to drive while you deal with the bunnies) and take them on a short ride around the block. This gets them to huddle together and learn to not be threatened by each other. My first pair of bunnies got along really well on their first date, so the next date, I took them on a car ride, and by the time they were back home, they had started grooming each other, and haven’t been apart since!

Awe Peaches is beautiful! Another thing to watch out for is biting through the fencing. They can do serious damage to mouths, noses, eyes, whatever is nearby. I used a fine netting type of fence about a foot 1/2 high and wrapped it around pen when mine were first getting used to the new bunny in the house.

                      Keep us udpated!
