Today i got the necklace i ordered from PETA! I was just scrolling through some bunny items online for my bunny and this came up and i thought it was amazing! its called a beating hearts necklace and its two bunnies with turquoise eyes together in the shape of a heart. it was twenty dollars, but well worth it because its going to a good cause and i love this necklace!

i love it! everyone on this site should get one! i just had to say how excited i was!
Haha, I have it. They stopped making it for a long time, glad to see it’s available again. They used to have it in gold too. You’ll notice me wearing it in most pictures I have with Frankie!

Is it still available? Do you have a link to it?
I am not sure about PETA sometimes, but I think on the whole they do pretty good work. I’d like to support the cause.
I want one too! That’s sooo cute!!
yep digxmexnow has the link above! im so glad others have it or want it and love it! they are adorable!
That’s cute! Too bad I have a “thing” against PETA. I just can’t buy anything that supports them in any way.
That’s pretty!
I know how you feel! I wish Peta did more things that people could relate to like cats and dogs being neglected instead of insane bloody fur coats and forcing vegetarianism. I think they’d get a better response if the public saw that they were going after people who abused ”pet-like” animals instead of wealthy and meat lovers. That’s just how I feel. I’d rather donate my time/money to humane societies.
My problem with PETA is that they exploit animals. They hate Pit Bulls. They would like for them to be illegal in this country yet when the whole Vick thing happened they were a very large presence in Richmond during the trial. They raised tons of money, not a dime of which went to help any of those dogs…or dogs like them.
They don’t believe that animals should be kept as pets. They would rather put a companion animal to sleep rather than force it to live life in a loving family. They euthanized something like 98% of all the companion animals they took in from area shelters and vets offices. Then they threw them away like trash in dumpsters behind grocery stores.
They don’t believe in animal testing, which I think is a good thing, but one of the high up officer people takes prescription medication that was tested on animals. Her logic is that the animals need her to fight for them…therefore it’s OK for her to be a hypocrite.
Then there’s the crazy splashing fur coats with paint, etc.
I just love the necklace
I dont really know much about PETA. i just know that some of the things they do (e.g. Ecoterrorism) can be done in a much more effective, safe, and useful manner without being crazy about it. but i couldnt help it the necklace is just adorable ![]()
I just found this link: https://bunnyrabbit.com/jewelry/pendant.htm
I want one of each!
I heard that if you are a Peta staff your lunch is checked for dairy or meat things, if it has dairy or meat then you get a lecture. I think it is yuckey that Peta does not want people to have pets, that is stupid, pets that are treated badly should be prohibited though!
Even though I disagree with Peta, they make cool neckleses!
Haha, yeah, I honestly don’t give a crap about PETA, but I love the necklace.
TARM that link isn’t working for me for some reason. Post piccies please, maybe?
One can never have enough bunneh jewelry! ![]()
Try it now…
lolz…I just shortened it and got in to the store…OMG, I am going to go broke in here! 0_0
can someone tell me the story with peta? ive heard alot of people dont like them? but being in the uk i dont really know of them, can someone explain?
I had no idea that PETA was against pet animals, or pit bulls. What a load of crap if you ask me. I think the majority of people who support PETA are the elitist Hollywood snob and the fringe radicals.
But, hey, 20 bucks for a super cute necklace… I’m totally there!
I have read and seen a lot of reports on PETA – it is true that they euthanise a huge amount of animals – They believe the animals are better of dead than as pets or in a zoo or even at a reserve.
So, they kill animals and want to force people to be vegetarians.
Pit bulls can be just as loving as any other dog – as we know, it is all about haw an animal is raised and treated.
Funny, the only people I know who are big Peta supporters are actually a mean and closed minded couple.
Actually, with Pit Bulls, it’s not all in how they’re raised and treated. Genetics plays a big role but the explanation is way too involved to get into here. Pit Bulls have been my passion for the last five years and I’m taking a break from it right now. The bottom line is that education of Pit Bull owners, the public, and especially public servants and elected officials is key…and it’s not happening, which is why breed banning is such a problem in this country.
The Cliff’s Notes of genetics with pit bulls is that so many unscrupulous people breed these dogs for looks instead of temperament. This is producing unstable dogs, the dogs are being sold to people who have not done an ounce of research (or if they have they’re looking at the wrong resources like dog fighting/protection materials), which is leading to the headlines you see in the papers.
The true nature of the pit bull is to be intensely loyal to his people (which also leads to much of the negativity since many people have these dogs for the wrong reasons) and do anything to please them. They are the only dog in history that was specifically bred not to bite people but decades of mixing with them with guardian breeds like Presa Canarios or Dog Argentinos has undone the careful work done by the dogmen who culled out any and all man biters (which is the ONLY good thing about the old school fighters).
So much for not getting into that here. :0)
That’s interesting information about pit bulls. I am unfortunately one of those people who cringe every time I see one. Especially when I see a young, tough man walking one. I know in my heart that it’s the owners, not the dog, but with a head like a pit bull, how can it not be strong enough to rip my baby apart?? I just get a little frightened by them. But then again, I think most kids are bitten by labs than pits. But this is way off topic….
It’s still a cute necklace!
K&D – PETA is an animal rights activism group, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Though their cause is a good one, they have a tendency of going a bit overboard at times in my opinion. They stage some pretty wacky demonstrations and stuff sometimes.
oh right interesting to know, i have always hated the way people say bad things about pit bulls, its not a dogs fault if it bites someone, if its been bred or brought up that way, you wouldnt hear someone say ‘oh my god that lion just bit my kid’ stupidity >.<
Reminds me of the story of the kids who were ‘supposedly’ not messing with the tigers or lions at the S.F. zoo last Xmas? Whatever happened with that, Bay Area folks? I know it went to court and it was big news for awhile…kinda wonder why a group like PETA didn’t step in on that one.
Was the pen really easily accessible by both the kids and escapable by the cat? Who knows? But what gets me is that I think those kids were taunting that animal, not that it attacked for no reason.
