So I was trying to pick up my rabbit and carry her to the bathroom to get the dried up poop on her fur cleaned but while I was picking her up she squirmed a lot and I ended up dropping her on her back… Just as I was about to put her down she squirmed out my hand and fell on her back (The fall wasn’t really big because I was kneeling about to put her down and right about my knee is when I dropped her on her back) She ran under a chair and started relaxing, she looks perfectly fine “NOW” but I know so well that rabbits can hide their pain easily. And I don’t want to send her to a vet because where I am it’s extremely expensive but if it comes to the point where a vet is seriously needed I’m willing to pay. I’m just worried I may have injured my rabbit and I really don’t want my rabbit thinking I want to harm her I just wanted to simply clean her. (And yes I know rabbits hate being picked up but this poop stuck to her fur has been a problem for a while and then again sending her to get a vet to do it is a lot so I wanted to do it myself) By the way I have a 2 year old Californian rabbit, weighs 6 pounds. I’m 5ft tall and she reaches to my knees when she stands.

Will she take a treat from you if you hold one out for her?

I’m sorry you dropped her, it doesn’t sound very serious though, but as you’re saying, rabbits are good at hiding pain and injury. So you’ll need to check so she is ok. Offering a treat is step nr one. If she takes it and eats it, you can proceed by trying to coax her out from where she’s lying. Just so you can see her move. You can use a treat for that too.

Check how she moves, if she uses all her feet, if she looks “normal” posture-wise. Hopefully she’s just a little upset that she was dropped, but she will forgive you for that.

I think dropping from the height of a bended knee will most likely be fine. Sometimes accidents like these do happen and like bam said, just monitor her for some time and see if she’s acting normal.

I know it’s not what you asked, but do you have any idea why she constantly has poop stuck to her fur though?
