Hi everyone! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!!!
So it was Christmas night and I had some spare time. So I took out this old webcam I found in my drawer and setup a live streaming webcam of my bunny cage.
Please let me know your feedback!
It’s an old webcam (non HD type) so the quality will suck. And I’m living in Asia, so there could be some latency/lag when streaming.

) Anyway, this webcam idea is actually an inspiration from Chip Chan.
I recently bump into this crazy story of this Korean lady who has been broadcasting her life for many years now. Some 4chan users (crazy place there, don’t even think of visiting them) found her webcam stream in 2008 and thought she was dead as she wasn’t moving at all. But later found out she was alive many hours later when she started moving. This poor lady sleeps most of the day while broadcasting live. She claims she was stalked by this policeman whom injected a microchip in her ankle which controls her and makes her sleeps anytime he wants at his command. She also claims this happened in 1998 or something… so she may have been hiding in her home, hardly ever leaving her home and sleeps most of the time (she once claim in her broadcast that she sleeps at least 20 hours a day), and may have been doing this webcam thingy for nearly 20 years! Kinda mindblowing story. Here’s her webcam if anyone is interested:

Actually, I bought a HD webcam to try it out. However, it is the wide-angle kind and it kinda destroyed my privacy. So I’m reverting back to the old webcam.
However, I bought a small LED night light to shine at the food during night time so viewers can still see em’. Of course, it is dim and only shining at one small position so the bunnies won’t get affected by it and can still sleep without being disturbed.

You need to purchase a IP webcam.
My old webcam brand and model name is D-link DCS-930L. The last I check this model was selling about SGD$40. So in the US, it should be USD$30 and £20-25.
It comes with a disc. So you can follow the instructions to install it.
Once it’s installed, access it. If you’re using Windows operating system, just click Start > Network and open the cam device. It will launch a window where you need to login (username and password is what you’ve typed in during installation of the IP cam from the disc).
NOTE: This is for D-link DCS-930L. If you purchase other brands or models, it will be different.
Once you’ve logged in, you will need to configure the settings. Click “Setup” and insert the port number you wish to forward. Like port 80, 8080, or any other number.
Now go to “Maintenance” and disable ‘User Access Control’.
Now you can access your IP cam without authentication needed. The browser URL is your IP. Insert this at the back of the URL to start viewing it live:
http://123.123.123.123
ORT/video/mjpg.cgi So if your IP is, say, 94.197.51.122 and your port number you’ve set is 80. Then the URL is:
http://94.197.51.122:80/video/mjpg.cgiThen again, if you’re behind a router, you will need to do port forwarding which gets a bit more technical.
