….SOOOO out-of-date!

Hi!

Man, do I have a lot to catch up on!  I’ve missed you all!  I have internet access back at my consistent-job, so hopefully I can keep up better now…

But I have good news!

Look who’s re-bonded (the little twerps!)

I had to do the bonding at midnight, in the bathtub (them, not me!), with a spray-bottle aimed at their (Robbies’s!) little fuzzy heads, but we have had happy co-habitation since February 13!!!  (My BF was PARTICULARLY happy about giving up Valentine’s Day to sit and stare at the bunnies and make sure they didn’t kill each other, btw!)

Robbie was obnoxiously happy about claiming possession of the hutch during pen-swaps (he did these weird demented binkies that were actually creepy INSIDE the hutch!), so I JUST put the hutch into their pen 3 days ago, and they still don’t have access to the inside.   I figure, maybe on April 15th (Tax Day, for you Americans!), I’ll let them have a try (they’ll have been living together 2 months…twice as long as their original bonding-time).  I’m still afraid Robbie’ll go mental and go after poor silly Lizzy once he decides he has a hutch to be territorial over…but if he’s a jerk, I guess I’ll have to get rid of their lovely hutch that they both love.

It was VERY much a “squirt bottle wedding”! I had just HAD it with them and their posturing and posing and keeping me up till 4am so they could have barely-adequate out-time (separately, while spending most of the time sticking their noses into each others’ pens and getting bit in the process!), and decided that if they were going to taunt each other, they could do the taunting up-close-and-personal…the BRATS!

But they’re doing okay, now…I really want them to have the hutch because I know how much they like it, but if I have to take it out back and burn it to keep Robbie from killing Lizzy, so be it!

Hi Lightchick, we’ve missed you!

Boy, they make a sweet couple. I know what you mean about having ‘had it’. After 2 months of Lola and Daisy almost being bonded I got tired of the snippy snotty bratting going on and turned them loose together in the living room (where I camped out with them). Every hour or so I would let my very friendly dog in to walk through the room and those 2 tried to climb into each other’s skin! By the end of the weekend they were thick as fleas and have stayed that way.

Hi Beka! Thumper is doing well. He is a HUGE piggy and runs around like he’s starving to death all the time…makes my BF crazy trying to keep up with him! Question from BF, while we’re talking about Thumper: Is there ANY limit to the “unlimited hay” rule? My 2 take 2 weeks to go through a flake. Thumper, if given “unlimited” access, would polish off a flake in 2 days! (Not exagerrating!)

Thumper’s still not neutered yet. Grrr. I wish BF would hurry up and save the money and get it done soon, because Thumper is a bit obnoxious. He runs around in circles, and lately has taken to honking, and leaps out of every enclosure unless there’s a roof, and is really sweet, but sort of like living with a small fuzzy hurricane! (Although he only lives here on weekends, so my two seem especially calm when he goes home.) His funniest habit is that he likes to run laps around the coffee table. Not zooms. Laps. A very constant running speed, no particular urgency or purpose, just around the coffee table, again and again, and again! Very strange…

The following is Miss Lizzy trying to give me a heart-attack with her back-of-the-sofa balancing-act (she loves it up there…unfortunately, she has no balance, and I have to swoop in on a regular basis and keep her from falling off the back and getting stuck between the sofa and the wall!)
