Well.. through the horrid rain I drove for her.
I was contacted by a breeder whom knew I had been looking for a solid black holland lop bunny. (this was before I ended up with Ollie, my broken black and white mni-lop.) I had given up on a solid black holland lop and had been considering fostering until I found a good partner for my Ollie.
So like I said she contacted me and wanted to know if I was interested in adopting a really beautiful girl. She is a bit bleached looking with browns from being kept an outdoor rabbit. So this is her story.
She was originally sold by the breeder as a pet. At a show she found her up for auction and checked her pedigree to find out that she was in fact the same rabbit she sold as a pet months earlier. This girl was underweight and her fur was discolored from the sun. She is 13 months old. The breeder bought her back for a dollar! She has been working on fattening her back up.
Unfortunately, she hasn’t been socialized as it seems. She will let me hold her without getting freaked out. But she is a bit boney. Her fur is molting and she will need to be spayed. But she is here now. It is the perfect ending for her. I am very happy. In our long long car ride home I decided to name her Lila. She is a pretty girl. I will post pics soon.
I am just glad I got her and she wasn’t snatched up for breeding purposes.
You will know why I say that when you see the pics. She is quite perfect.
