Is it okay for to male bunnies to be humpy each other they usually HUMP in a 69 style. Neither one dominates another. They both do it and neither try to make the other stop.

I dont know what to do. If i have to seperate em I think they well be depressed plus that means one has to stay outside I dont have the room for to seperate cages

You are going to want to keep an eye on them as the humping is a dominance behavior and it sounds like they are still “deciding” who is going to be the dominant bunny.  Unfortunately when they hump “incorrectly” nasty horrible wounds can be inflicted if bunny bites the other rabbits genitals that are right in their face.  This can happen to male, female or fixed rabbits.

I would keep a very close eye on them for fighting- they are getting more hormonal now as evidenced by the humping and fighting could soon follow.

How old are they now?  It might be something to consider separating them before they have a big blow out fight.  If they do get into a serious fight it could end up costing more than 2 neuters just to treat teh wounds AND you have the negative expereince to try to overcome with them.  Bunnies are smart and they would recognize another bunny that seriously attacked them- even months later.

Try allow them to see one another but continue to separate them. Perhaps put a barrier in their hutch (like wire panelling) but make sure they cant nip each other thru it. I think it was wise to separate them. When they chase and circle one another, that’s a pre cursor to a full on fight and rabbits can be really vicious when they fight.

Edit: I just read you have them in a NIC condo now.  Can you divide it?  They may be a little stressed adjusting to the new digs and this had brought on the dominance play off.  Along with those hormones!

Yes, they need to stay separated until after the neuters and they will need to be allowed to heal for at least 2 weeks (preferably one month). At that time you can reintroduce them and do some bonding sessions to get them living together again. This usually happens between baby bunnies. They are fine when they are very young, but once those hormones kick in, its like they don’t even recognize each other as the same bun they were happily playing with just days before. This is not uncommon and there isn’t anything wrong with them. Like Katnip mentioned, humping “the wrong way” is very dangerous and the bun on top can suffer a nasty injury to their private parts.

I’m pleased that you have them inside now. How are their litter habits doing? If they begin to spray the area, you could put a shower curtain or plastic on the walls around the condo that can be easily cleaned up until the neuters.
