Hi everyone, I have posted in the Welcome and Rainbow Bridge forums if you’d like a bit more background info.
One of my boys have just passed away. Not 100% sure of the cause, vet diagnosed him with ‘respiratory issues’, after researching the net a bit, my partner and I *think* he possibly had pneumonia and/OR head tilt. So we are keeping a very close eye on our surviving bun and looking for a more bunny savy vet.
But the problem I’ love to hear advice on, is how to help Wobert through this time.
Baxter and Wobert were brothers from the same litter, (flemish, mini lop x), they are just over 9 months old. They were bonded immediately, went through a period of being separated (probably about 6 weeks, but when we moved to a new house, the first play time they had together they were fine and didn’t go back into separate hutches, they were back to grooming each other etc.)
Wobert hasn’t quite been himself. I know to keep an eye out for depression. He is hiding a bit more. Has stomped his feet at us when we go out to see him, he comes in and out of the house (via cat door), he’s a bit jittery around us, he used to let us pick him up, but since Bax passed, he doesn’t like being picked up at all.
We’ve being patient, we’ll sit outside with him or on the floor when he comes in, I feel so sad for him losing his brother 🙁
Is there anything else I need to keep in mind with him?
And.. my partner and I would like to get another bun, (not right away, but eventually) any advice about that would be appreciated as well thanks xx
