How to get bunny to chew things we buy for her ?

we used to always buy a lot of wooden toys and blocks for my bun to chew on but she rarely ever chews on them so we stopped getting her anymore. she’ll chew on jade plants and her house and things she isn’t suppose to chew but she won’t chew the things she can play with. is there any way to get her to play with them ? she gets a lot of hay but doesn’t eat it as often as she should. i was thinking it might be because she’s bored and destructive but she won’t play with actual toys. maybe putting a thin layer of apple juice or orange juice get her to chew it ?? i’m not sure. please help !

Every bunny likes different kind of toys. For some reason mine don’t care for a willow ball but will go nuts for a willow tunnel, they like big rope balls but ignore the small rope balls…I think it is just a matter of trial and error. I guess you’ve already tried balls or tunnels made out of willow, rope, grass or hyacinth but if not I’d give that a try.

As Daisy said, it’s finding your rabbit’s preference. Toys are human-created items, not things rabbits naturally go to, though we try out best to use rabbit-enticing materials, like Willow.

Wick has no interest in chewing, so I have no advice for what toys to chew. We’ve tried soaking wood sticks in fruit juice and that still didn’t work, so we’re satisfied that we won’t need to continuously buy chew toys.

We do get him general stimulation toys, as a way to keep him on his toes and troubleshoot issues. We have baby -stacking cups-, that we put his pellets and treats in, and he needs to knock them down or pull them out of each other to get to the food. We also have a -windmill- dog toy that he recently figured out he needs to spin the arms in order to get the food to fall out! i guess ill have to keep looking for different toys. thanks for the help ! definitely will look into making diy rabbit friendly toys
