Hi so i have a 12 week old lion head unspayed. Recently i’ve been curious to try new ways to bond with her. Right now i can scratch her nose when she wants and she gets 4-5 hours of exploration when im home a work day (3 days a week). 2-3 hours. So what are some tactics you guys suggest?
My approach is to let her run around and explore her surroundings she sniffs me i can maybe sneak 1 or two pets in but thsts it. Right now i am trying out the approach her breeder suggested. Which is to pet her on my lap chill and pet her. So far shes jusy flopped out a bit she does look a little tense though. I guess i would be too. Do you guys have any other ideas? Im all ears. Thanks!

I wouldn’t force her to be on your lap for petting. If you have to pick her up to get there, this may be teaching her that you are scary rather than friendly. You should keep hanging out with her on the ground when she is exploring! It would be helpful to have a healthy treat (some favorite vegetable or very small piece of fruit) to offer her when she comes over to you. That way she will associate being near you with getting food Don’t push her on the petting, when she comes up to you, you can try to pet her but if she leaves after a while that is OK! Every rabbit is different, and some enjoy petting more than others.

For me, when Thor is not in the mood to snuggle, I sometimes sit on the ground with her anyways and just read/ go on my computer. I think this counts as bonding time, sometimes she will flop near me and just chill.

I’d suggest grabbing some treats and laying on the floor and letting your bunny explore you.  Patience is the key.  When your bun comes close, offer treats.

Yes it isnt ideal as im still in high school but thankfully im
Graduating today so that stops today. Im planning to bunny proof my room so she has an entire room. Also to note her cage is an x-pen i convered to a cage with 3 stories on it its about 4×4 wide. She isnt exactly cramped but thanks. Im trying my best to let her out as much as humanly possible.
