I’m just curious how often you guys change your bunnies water; My research told me that you should change your bunnies water at least twice a day (and rinse the water bowl while your changing the water, I also wipe it with a clean wash cloth), once in the morning and once at night. I try to do it 9 AM (though often times I’m late) and 9 PM (sometimes a tad early) and now I’m wondering if that’s ok.

I typically don’t change my rabbits water, but add to it to make sure it is full. I will rinse out the bowl if I notice there is a lot of fur getting in it or if it looks grimy. Once a week I will soak the bowls in vinegar water and wash them completely.

I give new water once per day. I also rotate waterbowls so I can run them in the dishwasher. (Some people might find that gross, but I dont).

I have four water bowls because Luna has kidney disease and drinks a lot. I usually rinse/wipe and refill two bowls each day, then do the other two the next day.

I change Glenns once a day in the evening, rise it out a couple times and then refill, I will give it a ‘deep clean’ once a week. When I have 2 buns I have 2 bowls of water, rinse and fill once a day and deep clean twice a week because the double traffic makes them a bit more grimy

2 buns, 2 bowls. One is large dog sized bowl, other is a cat sized one. I wash them in the evening every day (preventing bacteria from building up that can cause health issues, I don’t use dishwasher often but throw them in there when I do run it for extra sanitation). If I see hay or anything in it in during the day I’ll rinse it out and refill it. I only use filtered water. My personal rule is if I wouldn’t drink from it I shouldn’t expect my pet to. (Though honestly I am worse at washing out my own water glass!)

On the filtered water, me too!

Everyone here, except the goats, get filtered water.  We use the Zero water filters, takes out so much stuff!  We were using Brita, turns out that wasn’t doing anything on our well water.

As for the original question, I typically add to the water daily, clean the whole shebang once a week or whenever they put something in it.
