Roger use to have a bunny basket. He’d occasionally dig at it, but otherwise ignored it. Then I put his wooden hidy on top of it and within about a month he’d decimated it. It was left there a bit longer, but as it was no longer so fun he started to become naughtier in other ways (who tries to bite the horizontal middle of a skirting board? There isn’t even anything to grip!). He also dug straight through his litter mat which has also been replaced.
So I bought him an extra durable dog bed in the hopes it would last longer, I’m not sure he’s all that keen on scratching it as being a bit firmer he seems to have decided it’s suitable for laying on. Still, it’s water resistant which will make cleaning easier.
Does your bunny build burrows in his bed? How often do you replace it?
(Also, we’re currently without a litter tray because we forgot to pick up his tray from the person who was kind enough to host him overnight. So that’s why his carrier is in there.)
