I was just curious about the average number of bunnies everyone has, and how many have single bunnies and plan on keeping it that way. If you foster or volunteer, don’t count those bunnies!

Two Lionheads. Mr Brian Bubblebum & Miss Bettie a.k.a. Weeny Bean. I can honestly say I wouldn’t be without ’em!

I just have Rocky at the moment who is a lionhead, I had actually wanted a big bun and came across him on craigslist, having all ready lived in 4 homes and 2 people all ready hadn’t showed up to get him. I have a small place and 5 cats though. However and some input would be nice , Rocky gets his own room, he has a very large room and cage but is free range in there anyways. If it’s just him in there (ocasionally a cat will visit with me there), should I add a buddy? Do you think the one room will be ok for 2?

Hi Amy! Bunnies generally crave the attention of another bunny and would be a wonderful idea for your bun to have a companion, not to mention they do live longer if they are paired. Is your current bunny fixed though? If not definately do that before you attempt to bond. You can bunny date at local shelters and rabbit organizations to be sure you’ve got a pair that will get along well. I’m so glad you saved the cutie!

Amy I highly recommend getting Rocky a companion. My two are free to roam the whole flat, but they prefer to stay in our bedroom. They have a large cage in the bedroom which is always open so they just come and go as they please. I thought the Bumstar was more than happy being the only bun, but I was amazed at the difference when he was introduced to the Bean. Sure she drove him mad for the first few weeks, but now they are completely inseperable. I find it a real joy to watch their interaction with each other. And yuo sound like a fabulous bunnymum 🙂
