Chunk and Lady Euler (boy and girl, respectively) are both getting fixed on May 1st. Right now they are in the same room in seperate cages. They’ve sniffed at each other through the bars and haven’t shown any signs of aggression, also, no spraying or honking from the male bun.

So they are fairly familiar with one another’s scents, but haven’t come face to face in the open because neither have been spayed/neutered yet.

I’m wondering how long I should wait after they get fixed to try to start bonding them properly.

Hi Algie, that’s great your rabbits are getting fixed and then can have each other for company! — Wait four weeks before allowing them to meet face-to-face. The female must heal properly and must not come into contact with an intact or recently neutered male as
she could suffer serious injury. The neutered male’s hormone levels will gradually drop over a period of up to four weeks, at which
point you can begin the bonding sessions. Some literature suggests waiting two weeks is enough, but I’d give it the extra time just
to be sure they hit it off together. You can tell how your male’s hormone’s are declining by putting your other rabbit’s scent (i.e. hair)
on the sleeve of your sweater and then presenting this to your neutered male. He will want to hump your arm most likely
which is fine just watch how long and how aggressivelly he does it.

Absolutely… you have to wait at least one full month, two full months would be even better if you can hold off.
