How long after a spay does it take for their tummy fur to grow back in? Monkey ahs some fur, but some bald patches still. Its kinda funny, but I’m hoping its normal and not somethign wrong…

Quite a while. Pepe was shaved almost 2 months ago for his sonogram and it’s still is just fuzz. That does sound normal to me.

It probably won’t grow in fully until her next shed.

Good to know, now I can just giggle at her tummy and not feel bad about it. hehe

Unless baldness runs in her mother’s side of the family, in which case, like my brother, it will never grow back.

                Kidding.

Yup, it does take a long time… Meadow’s was pretty bare for a couple months, and as a rex, she hardly had any fur there to begin with…

The two big molts they have is when most of their coat is replaced. Remember they have fur not hair so it doesn’t grow in immediately like our hair does (ie. shaving legs)-basically that hair won’t grow back until it was going to shed again (hair shedding occurs when the new fur grows and displaces the old fur); So actually a few months is pretty standard.

Well when I adopted Gracie it took her awhile for her fur to grow back. But with Sandy, her fur grew so fast that I could hardly see her staples after 2 weeks when they were suppose to come out. The vet tech even needed to take her in the other room to really see under the light!
