Walter is post neuter 3 weeks today. He has been caged the entire time, with Boo in the pen, where previously, she had a few hours pen too every night.

They seem to like one another.

Tomorrow, I was thinking of putting them in the tub with a huge pile of greens between them, worked with my G.Pigs!

If it doesn’t go smoothly, when do I intervene….right away or see if it’s just a spay?

Or, should I just open the cage and go from there?

That should say just a spat, not just a spay, stupid auto correct.

I think the bathtub sounds like a good plan. I wouldn’t open the cage though, that sounds like a recipe for disaster! They can be perfectly friendly through a barrier but then all heck breaks loose when that barrier is gone.

I tend to intervene more often and more quickly in the early dates, just to make sure to start things off on a good foot. If they go nose to nose to request grooms, I like to pet them both to make them think they are being groomed. Sometimes they will even relax and fall asleep near each other like that. 🙂
