Do I seriously have the messiest rabbit in the world?  I see pictures and everyones rabbits have soft fluffy beds, and clean happy enclosures.  Every morning when I wake up it looks like someone tipped their condo over and shook it!

There is hay EVERYWHERE.  If there is a cat bed in there hoppers has peed on it.  And since I carpeted the levels they are super furry (they seem to be molting now that the heat it on).

So do you guys only take pictures after cleaning or are my 2 super messy little devils?

ooo boy, you should see my messy boys. I can clean their pens every day, twice a day, and 10 minutes later they would make it look like a barn again. Hay everywhere, bits of willow everywhere, toys everywhere, Squirrel even moves the walls of his pen everywhere lol.

I imagine that most folks only take pictures of their enclosures when they are clean :~)

That being said, I do clean my rabbits area twice a day – vacuum, pick up, etc…

I think people’s pens always look clean because they only take pictures when they’re clean. lol

I have the hay and litterboxes in a pet store cage, so the plastic bottom is easy to sweep up and keep clean. Hannah does like to eat hay from outside the cage, which means she pulls it through the bars and makes a mess, but with wood floors it’s not so bad. They tend to track poo out on their feet so there are always some in the pen area of their cage. They also drag hay out and leave fur all over so the carpeted area of their pen is a mess. I try to vacuum it every couple weeks. In between if it’s really bothering me I’ll get a slicker brush and just go over the middle areas – it works really well to pull up hair and hay (maybe better than my vacuum). On a regular basis, it definitely doesn’t look clean! I pick up the poo and clean up any pee accidents as soon as possible, but I let everything else go – I don’t have the energy to clean every day if they’re going to mess it up again.

thank god, you all take pics after cleaning! I sweep and clean the basics every morning – I need to vacuum more. I hate when people see it all messy. I feel like my house rabbits need to be an advocate for inside bunnies – then they are little piggies that look like they turned my house into a barn! lol

Oh and the carpet I got (for free) to carpet the different level – is that awful pinky mauve color……so pretty for 2 boy buns!

My bunny isn’t too messy. Except if I put his water or food bowls anywhere but on his shelf he picks them up and throws them ( so much for using HEAVY crocks ). I clean his litter box daily but except for that I only need to sweep/vacuum his area once a week.

Samson isn’t messy at all, I clean his pen really like once a month? And then I just take everything out and mop the floors and put it back. Lady isn’t messy either, aside from her territorial marking she’s doing atm, but I’m sure that will go away once she’s spayed.
I have their hay in boxes right in front of the litterboxes, with their litterboxes shoved in them a little, any stray hay falls right into the litterbox. Maybe that makes a difference? Who knows. They are on tile and both have a couple fleece blankets that I wash every few days.

I dont clean Huck’s room more than once a week. I change her litter two-three times per week. She has a three-level condo. The top level is where I keep a box of hay, the whole level is covered in tiny bits of hay. The second level is where she sleeps, mostly. Her loose fur gets trapped in the corners and stuck to the carpet flooring of the condo. Now, this is what it looks like about 24 hrs after cleaning it. She doesn’t pee/poo outside her box…. I dont mind the mess. It stays confined to her little area, I keep it under control…. I just figure, if you have an animal that seems to never stop shedding and eats/plays with hay, youre going to have a mess. The rest of the room has the odd toy here and there and occasionally the remnants of a phone book.

My buns like to keep their areas clean too. Usually (because their being box trained) there would be a few poos here and there, but for the most part it’s rather clean. If I have plastic dishes for the pellets they tend to tip them over, but now if I use the heavier dishes. Their hay rack stays pretty clean too and they usually only pull their hay out when they are hungry and want some. I just have lazy elder female buns.

I figure anyone who comes to my house is distracted by the array of boxes set up all over the living room for the bunnies to play with and isn’t paying attention to the mess they made. Haha. They certainly have a lot of stuff and make a big mess! I swear I’d never have to vacuum or sweep my house if I didn’t have bunnies.

Mmm, I only take pictures when I clean lol every day I wake up to the entire area around the litter box coated in droppings because they refuse to only use the litter box (they use the litter box, then outside it) *sigh* so I clean up about 2x a day, sometimes more if they are being really messy. They do have blankets and such though, which they don’t mess, just the area just outside the litter box. And they throw hay everywhere cause they don’t like the little grassy parts of hay, just the long strands, so they have to dig to get what they want…

Bahahahaha clean?! Hazel shreds her timothy tunnel all over the fleece blanket underneath her x-pen. It looks like a hay bale exploded. Add to that all of the shredded phone book and cluttered toys, hidey house, and her litter boxes…yeah. Definitely a mess. I clean her litter boxes every 2-3 days and clean up any accidents, but other than that I wash/vacuum her area once a week or so. I can’t keep up…she’s such a busy little Nethie!
